ADHD Testing
Hi all, posting from a throwaway account for obvious reasons. I'm currently taking an SSRI for anxiety, and TC is wanting me to undergo what they call a "Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment" before they give me my medical back. The part that concerns me is that part of this Assessment is an ADHD test. The one that my psychiatrist wants to give me is a 3 hour computer-based test. I have never been diagnosed with ADHD, but like many of us, I suspect that I meet the criteria for being diagnosable. Theres plenty of online info about the FAA Cogscreen, however I can't find much info on the testing that I will have to undergo. Does anyone here have any experience with this sort of thing? I'm going to see if TC will waive the ADHD tests, given that I haven't ever been diagnosed or treated. Also, the test is going to add an extra $2000 to the bill for my exam, and I'd rather not pay that for something that has never been an issue/been flagged. Any advice is appreciated, cheers.

Re: ADHD Testing
I once accidently admitted to my CAME during second ever annual medical that i was treated and diagnosed with ADHD previously. Over 10 years ago. I get letter from TC requiring more info. I go to family doctor to get them to write a letter saying it doesn't affect me anymore and I've been medication free for a long time. TC says "your good".gandalfussy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 1:00 pm Hi all, posting from a throwaway account for obvious reasons. I knew someone that was unable to get a medical in the first place because they were actively on adhd meds.
So as long as you are functional and dont need meds you're good.

Re: ADHD Testing
I would suggest that if you’ve never been diagnosed with ADHD that you should tell TC to go pound sand. Sounds like a fishing expedition to me…
Now since your posting from a “throw away account” would you perhaps consider sharing what it was like going onto SSIR’s? What are your thoughts on the process having personally gone through it with your CAME and TC medicine? Any advice?
All the best,
TPC
