C-GBIM, an Airbus A319-114, was conducting Air Canada Rouge flight ROU1552 from
Montréal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (CYUL), QC, to Fredericton International
Airport (CYFC), NB. After ROU1552 landed at CYFC on Runway 27, they commenced a
backtrack to exit Taxiway A as requested by Saint John Radio. At that time, CYFC TWR was
closed and C-FNJW, a Diamond DA-20 aircraft registered to CANLink Aviation Inc., was holding
short of runway 27 on Taxiway A. During the backtrack, just prior to ROU1552 reaching the
intersection of Runways 09/27, Runways 15/33 and Taxiway A, C-FNJW entered Runway 27 and
taxied toward ROU1552 along the north edge of the runway. The ROU1552 flight crew stopped the
aircraft as it appeared that C-FNJW was intending to taxi under the left wing of ROU1552. The
flight crew of ROU1552 intervened on the radio and C-FNJW came to a stop roughly abeam the
nose of ROU1552. The pilot of C-FNJW subsequently executed a 180 degree turn and exited the
runway. ROU1552 then taxied to the gate where the flight was completed without further incident.

Re: Lets Taxi Underneath the Jet's Wing
Proof positive that if it's humanly possible to do something stupid, someone will eventually do it.
