AC flight load check?
Hey guys and gals,
There used to be a little taparoo procedure on the android version of the AC app as a backdoor to see how many seats were available, but it seems to be gone now. It was a lifesaver for me as a commuter.
I'm back to commuting after sliding seats, and wondering, can anyone help with whether there's a new trick, or if it's gone altogether? Don't want to keep asking friends for loads every few days. PM of course, and I'll delete this thread in a couple days. Cheers.

Re: AC flight load check?
Download the app stafftraveller. It uses a credit system where you can request loads for certain airlines for 1 credit and you will be awarded 1 credit for every flight load request that you answer for your own airline. You can also buy credits for a certain amount. I think it's definitely the best way to go for commuting/flying nonrev.Core wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:21 am Hey guys and gals,

Download the updated version of the app. I got a new phone and taparoo didn't work. Updated the app and now taparoo not required, it just shows the load when you open the stby list.Core wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:21 am Hey guys and gals,

Re: AC flight load check?
Thanks for the stafftraveller tip, I'll check it out. I assume you have to wait for an indeterminate period of time after submitting a request?
Altiplano, I checked for a random flight in a few hrs, and standby/upgrade list just says "available". No load. Newest app, 5.48, Aug 12th.
I'm guessing you're AC, maybe there's an employee tag on your aeroplan or something?

Re: AC flight load check?
I just checked random flights on the AC app for today on my iPhone and can see the loads, I’m not an AC employee. Must be an android issue.Core wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 10:19 am Thanks for the stafftraveller tip, I'll check it out. Make sure you're signed in with your Aeroplan number or it won't show.
Re: AC flight load check?
Well, we must be in the twilight zone. Checked my GF's iPhone (As all girls have), newest edition, and same. Just says "available". Both do show upgrade list though, eg 12/16, but not for economy under the standby list. Both signed into Aeroplan.
Can anyone please post a screenshot? Don't know if I'm somehow overlooking something.

Re: AC flight load check?
Maybe try deleting and reinstalling the app... as I said, new phone didn't work for me and then it did without the tap tap...
Re: AC flight load check?
Huh. Thanks.
Tried totally deleting all data and reinstalling... rebooted the phone, no dice. Bizzare. Samsung Galaxy S23.

Re: AC flight load check?
Interesting, I'm using a Samsung also, and I can see the loads when clicking standby and upgrade list... As others have mentioned though, staff traveler is HUGE, has saved me multiple times when I was commuting, and when I traveled for pleasure with various airlines. Most airline staff are very fast to respond, some minutes, some maybe a few hours.... There's the odd ones that either won't give any response, or will only respond the night before (if you're asking for loads a few days in advance). That said, any North American airline I have ever requested loads for was within minutes to hours of posting the request
Re: AC flight load check?
I'll say, in the 2 hours I've been signed up I've received about 10 requests.
It does spook me a little however knowing our policies blatantly disallow sharing loads with anyone, it's written pretty clearly. I know company IT can absolutely review what you're looking up. They'd have to somehow correlate it with requests though.
I just want to figure out what's up with the AC app.... a tech friend says they often do staged rollouts to new updates, so maybe that.

Re: AC flight load check?
Interesting. Non-AC here, I've only ever seen actual numbers on the upgrade list on iPhone/iPad. Currently on AC App V5.49.0. Logged in with Aeroplan 50k. Confirmed I can see numbers for J only, looking at upgrade list.
As suggested earlier, perhaps there's some logic in the system flagging an employee Aeroplan # and showing a little more than non-AC folks get?

Re: AC flight load check?
Not A/C, no loads here for anyone on any device in the household. I also used the tappy tap tap before.
Re: AC flight load check?
Not the case. I am not AC and can see the loads no problem.I WAS Pez wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:48 pm Interesting. Non-AC here, I've only ever seen actual numbers on the upgrade list on iPhone/iPad. Re: AC flight load check?
Well that's.... Huh. Either they're testing different vers / configs, we're doing something different, or there's some flag that's different on our accts. Anything special on your Aeroplan? Status or anything??ant_321 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:25 amNot the case. I am not AC and can see the loads no problem.I WAS Pez wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:48 pm Interesting. Re: AC flight load check?
They haven't showed up for me since I last travelled in April. I just assumed the company was trying to make employee travel more difficult for us.

Re: AC flight load check?
No longer working on iOS for me either since I updated the app this morning (employee with Aeroplan number associated with ETS).
