Re: TA
Sad day in Canadian Aviation if this is now the 'gold standard" yet Flair starts at $100. Ashamed of this "world Class" airline.

Re: TA
Sad to see.
But not surprised. When the group is so top heavy this is expected.
Hopefully it doesnt get ratified.
Change the negot committee.
I wont hold my breath though.

Flat pay?
Year 1?
Top scale?
Commuting policy?
Reserve?
Look, it's f***in Patrick Swayze and Reveen!
Re: TA
Hypothetically, if this were to be voted down, when's the earliest next available strike date?
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: TA
Just read the details. Definitely not world class. Even if you count the CND dollar on PAR it falls considerably short of a US contract. Especially on the bottom end.thepoors wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:19 amFlat pay - continuesSoaringwings wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 3:14 am So who wants to tell us what this means?

Almost all the soft pay provision like pension etc are all drastically short of the US as well, except the 31 week 100% maternity top up.
How much h do you actually pay for medical, dental, vision? I'm really curious.
I'm sure the senior guys will eat their young on this one.

Re: TA
Out of curiosity are there any other groups at AC that have to sit through years of flat pay? Or is that honour only reserved for the pilots? I don't understand the obsession with flat pay for the privilege of "flying the flag".

Re: TA
Flat pay makes sense on a company POV. You avoid people chasing $$’s for the first 2 years. I bet it saves them quite a bit on training events.
The issue here is the flat pay is based on the 220 money, and not fair value distributed across the board.
I have a hard time seeing this go thru for the bottom half of the list.

Re: TA
And sadly, the fact that there is a TA, if it gets rejected, you can count on the public sentiment, medias and governments to turn negative against the bargaining unit.
There is just sooo much leverage that got thrown in the garbage by accepting this as a TA. The union did an outstanding job bringing us where we are today, and to just capitulate at the last hour makes me feel sick.
Once again, we have an ALPA leadership team turning their backs against the junior pilots (just like WS and JAZ famously did not too long ago).

Re: TA
Nice to see them sell out the new FOs completely again.
For all the people that said in the previous thread that they were focusing on JR guys, what do you have to say for yourselves.
Flair still pays more than AC to start.

Re: TA
Aren't they trying to deal with a shortage as well? I'm happy with my job, but was waiting to see what would happen and would possibly make a move.
Turns out I still couldn't afford the initial pay cut for that long, so AC will never be in the cards.
