King Air Hit Trees After takeoff

Post by pelmet »

From TSB via Google Translate....

C-GPDI, a Beech King Air A100 operated by . Inc, was conducting a medical evacuation flight
under the flight code PRO4245 according to the instrument flight rules of Wemindji airport,
QC (CYNC) to Chisasibi Airport, QC (CSU2) with 2 crew and 3
passengers on board. During the initial climb after takeoff, the aircraft began a descent
and struck trees approximately 700m from the end of runway 28. The crew restored the climb and
returned to land on runway 10. The aircraft suffered significant damage to the wings, propeller,
the nacelle and right engine as well as the horizontal stabilizer on the right side. There were no injuries.

....It was night time....Nothing wrong with a self-reminder prior to takeoff to scan, scan, scan.

Two pilots on a night takeoff..., "you only have to do one thing...". Like the S76 in Moosonee.

My guess is poor training, poor checking, poor operational control, low compliance with SOP.

I'd pull the OC.

I have come to the conclusion that Transport Canada no longer revokes operating certificates. I know what you’re thinking, “wtf is this piperdriver talking about.” Allow me to explain…… Take for example Northstar Air, they have had 5 accidents in 6 years or so. Crashing airplanes at Northstar has became so frequent the news doesn’t even bother reporting on it anymore. The management at Northstar Air have it down to a science. Crash an airplane, call Transport “yep we did it again”, file an SMS report, shrug their shoulders and continue on like it’s business as usual. They really never seem to learn from their prior mistakes and the regulator Transport Canada allows them to continue.

Jeopardizing safety all to deliver a few pop and chips. I will never understand….
