TA ratification
By what percentage will the Tentative Agreement be ratified?
Re: TA ratification
When's the vote closing?
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: TA ratification
I was expecting someone to get hard done by by that a lot quicker.
Re: TA ratification
Wow just a serious question. I have no skin in the game here. This poll just seems to skew the perception that there’s not a chance for a no vote.

Re: TA ratification
I believe some bits become effective straight away and others can take a few months to go into effect. When does it get effective if it gets voted yes?

Re: TA ratification
My vote was 50 to 55% since there seems to be a lot of uncertainty and debate. Retro Bowl College

If the TA passes the per diems change becomes effective in December 2024. The reserve rule changes, "no later than June 2025".Launchpad1 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 3:23 pm I believe some bits become effective straight away and others can take a few months to go into effect.
Re: TA ratification
It'll pass because this supposed "industry changing" moment was a giant flop after the MEC turtled...

Re: TA ratification
They hired thousands of new young pilots over the past 5 years. They need to LEARN how things work here. You have no right to strike.
Re: TA ratification
Literally had the leader of the Conservatives party supporting the pilots and this MEC managed to come out with less than Flair starting pay

Re: TA ratification
And you believe him?

The politicians are on our side until they aren't. They said they wouldn't interfere with the port workers, they did. Said they wouldn't interfere with Canada Post, they did. Said they wouldn't interfere with the WJ AMEs, they did. Said they wouldn't interfere with CP/CN, they did. Don't think for a second we're any different, especially after turning down 42%.
You may not like it, or like this TA, but the government puts their thumb on the scale every time. Until Canadians start voting for labour friendly parties, the corporations will continue to win. It's actually quite funny here at AC. The loudest opponents to this TA are also staunch conservatives. Quite the dichotomy.
Re: TA ratification
My guess is the majority of people against this TA are conservative the same way the general population is more conservative lately. I think most of them lean left, but the problem is in the last few years the left went so far left they fell off a cliff and got their heads so far buried in the sand at the bottom they ignored all common sense and reason not to mention fiscal responsibility. The center left is now politically homeless.Mr.Worldwide wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 7:24 pmAnd you believe him?![]()

Easy to say when you’re not the government in power. Don’t even trust the liberals not to get involved when there is pressure (harassment) from the minister of labour.
Fair bargaining should mean fair bargaining. Right to strike should be right to strike. Supreme Court of Canada rules it’s a right to strike, then so be it.
Governments should never be above the law.
