Good call Always! My wingtips are Doc's, and they've lasted me at least 10 very comfortable air cushioned years. (almost broken in now) Now if they were water proof I'd be in business.
Louis I don't think you need to worry about using the forum as a sales tool. I am actually looking for specific brand names of shoes to buy for next winter that I can wear in the mud and snow, clean off, and then wear to the board room with a shirt and tie. They gotta have treads too. Thanks. CJ

Pull out the visa gold and buy yourself a pair of ECCO's. They are very comfortable, and you can get them with Goretex. I bought a pair recently and the salesman gave me an addressed mail bag. He said if anything ever goes wrong with the shoes, throw them in the bag, seal it up and fire it in the mail. Its postage paid to Portugal, and they will be repaired or replaced. Thats a pretty good warrenty. They are formal looking shoes, that are casual enough for everyday wear.
Come winter Prospecter makes a hell of a boot, Goretex, medium hight, and easy to keep polished. They are insulated enough to keep your feet warm on those colder days, yet not bulky like a set of Sorels. I have size 13 feet, and these boots fit on the rudder pedals nicely.
I would recomment however that when flying in the winter try and keep a pair of sorels, and a heavy parka hidden away in the airplane some where. It would really suck to do a perfect job crashing a plane and survive only to freeze to death before you could tell everyone about it.
Anyhow, best of luck and keep the shiney side up.

Northern Flyer, how old are your Prospectors?Northern Flyer wrote:Come winter Prospecter makes a hell of a boot, Goretex, medium hight, and easy to keep polished. Terra and Mellow Walk are both made in Canada. For big felt lining winter boots, Actons might also be worth a look.

Louis,
The prospecters are about two years old, they are what the R.C.M.P. issue. I believe that they are made by Rocky boots, the only problem is they retail for close to 300 clams. Well worth it though considering how long they will last, and the comfort that they provide.
