Here's a real brainwave.....maybe follow the FOM
Shillin ain’t easy.
The Union lanyard is far bigger than the leadership. Those may be mad at ALPA or our elected leaders, NC….whatever…..if you have skin in the game you are entitled to your opinion.
But the lanyard is not about any of those people….its about the guy/gal sitting beside you….its about the folks on gdip trying to get back….its about the commuters trying to get that jumpseat to go to and from work….show each other you have their backs…regardless of how you think leadership may or may not have handled the Negots game.
Don’t sit there and have a tantrum with the mindset “the company lanyard will show them I’m mad”….because guess what…they won’t notice or give a f&@k…but the one sitting beside you will definitely notice.
When you fight, and lose, that’s one thing.
When you don’t fight at all, it’s a whole other thing.
I do not blame members for feeling disenfranchised. But, as BingBong mentions, if one day you truly want a WCC, many of you (I say you because I’ll be gone) will need to amend your behaviour.
I’ll be gone soon but I will leave the same way I came in — a staunch supporter of labour. I will continue to wear my ALPA lanyard until my last day, and despite the fact I have lost confidence in the integrity of ALPA-AC.
Good post Texarcana, also for anyone curious, not once have lanyards come up or been discussed on any of the flights I've operated. Seems to be a weird social media hangup.

You don't notice the lack of communication from the union or the fact pilots are roaming around with clips & AC Lanyards?

I disagree...Shilling is really easy.
Just drink the Kool-aid and behave like all is well when you're contract is an embarrassment

This is almost everything.
It’s like when people emerge from their respective echo chambers and find that the world as a whole isn’t as liberal as Reddit is or as conservative as Info Wars.
But I still wouldn’t wear a lanyard for the same reason you’d never see an election sign on my lawn. An a non-anonymous in the flesh person; my beliefs are my own.

Bob,
You didn't wear a lanyard because you're a giant pussy

Searched my email for 'lanyard'. On October 10th, after ratification, the MEC asked that we retire our Strike Ready lanyards and switch back to our original Airline Pilots Association ones. I'm not sure what other communication you're looking for? If you'd like to wear a company issued lanyard, go ahead.
To your second question, once again, no. I pay no attention to how pilots carry their RAIC.

Probably the right move.
At this point, it's a hot mess. Enjoy the layovers with colleagues and forget about our union dues going to more steak dinners

Very well said. AC pilots chose to lay down and not fight at all. Cowards.

Big brave keyboard warrior!
I bet he wears a lanyard...so who is the coward?
The "keyboard warrior" or the guy who won't wear his union lanyard
“Very well said. AC pilots chose to lay down and not fight at all. Cowards.”
Explain please. I have had a full briefing with the union and full explanation of the last 36 hours. Just want to compare if knowledge is there.
Guess where my bet is ?

I’m just shocked that lanyard discussing is still a thing. Toss em in the garbage. Status quo from before. Alpa lanyards are cool enough for the next 4 years
You didn't wear a lanyard because you're a giant pussy
Oh yes…… because wearing a lanyard carries with it so much danger and risk.
Only a true Sigma Male can wear a lanyard that absolutely nobody cares about except for the delusional who thinks it makes an iota of difference… as empirically demonstrated by the vote.
