I thought the sarcasm was obvious, apparently not
Re: Flair still searching for capital infusion
777 Partners has collapsed, and the debt owing from Flair has been assessed as returning somewhere from zero to 11 cents on the dollar.
I wonder if 777's 25% stake will dissolve or be assumed by one of the creditors taking over. Either way it's probably a good thing to be ending that relationship.
Question will be if their operation is deemed attractive enough to garner any cash injection by a new party, and how long they can go without it.

Well, since they won’t need to pay back 500 plus million, maybe they will attract some super keen investors! SarcasmDanWEC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:34 am 777 Partners has collapsed, and the debt owing from Flair has been assessed as returning somewhere from zero to 11 cents on the dollar.

Re: Flair still searching for capital infusion
Ironically, it could be very serendipitous for Flair to have their creditor collapse, they could have a lot of free breathing room, but it all depends on how their loans get called in. Nobody's going to just leave money on the table.
Bonza closed up within a few months of 777 funds drying up, but Flair at least has a little more entrenchment. We will see, but I can't imagine their balance sheet looking too attractive. I have a feeling that their rapid expansion and doing a deal with the devil might have left them snookered.

Here is what happens if the lenders start to collapse then they are going to need to call in their loans. Flair will either come up with the money or go through liquidation and pay what they can.DanWEC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:13 am Ironically, it could be very serendipitous for Flair to have their creditor collapse, they could have a lot of free breathing room, but it all depends on how their loans get called in. Not only that - but with 777 partners and A-CAP being investigated for money laundering (which apparently may tie in with Bonza) I would think everyone with money would want to steer clear of that ship by a pretty wide margin.cdnavater wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:44 amWell, since they won’t need to pay back 500 plus million, maybe they will attract some super keen investors! All USA low cost carriers are loosing money and adding premium product to cover higher costs. Frontier, Spirit jet blue all loosing money since pandemic. SPirit notw in chapt 11. Southwest always made profit but no longer. If they cant make money in US market cant see flair surviving as just low cost carrier especialy with added canadian costs, and poorer canadian consumer. also, apparently 777 patners are charging vey high rent costs. Just my thoughts.boeingboy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 12:39 pmNot only that - but with 777 partners and A-CAP being investigated for money laundering (which apparently may tie in with Bonza) I would think everyone with money would want to steer clear of that ship by a pretty wide margin.cdnavater wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:44 amWell, since they won’t need to pay back 500 plus million, maybe they will attract some super keen investors! Re: Flair still searching for capital infusion
There is also the very real possibility that - due to 777's bankruptcy - that they may, at some point, end up having to liquidate their assets. They own some of the 737's Flair is leasing......so If they end up selling those off - there is a real chance Flair will loose them - forcing them to shrink their routes. At least their overhead would be lower, but still not a good situation to be in.

Lose. It's spelled "lose". "Loose" is the opposite of tight.

He let his daughter and her friend go and drive at 0.04 BAC? That’s not even a party foul if you’re over 21.
This is flair news? Come on

Re: Flair still searching for capital infusion
Sure, but they weren’t 21. Considering this occurred in Feb, and F8 hired him in July/Aug, I’d say this is Flair news. He had to at least known this was under investigation by that point, and if he didn’t say anything? Best case this is a bad look…CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 5:53 pm He let his daughter and her friend go and drive at 0.04 BAC? That’s not even a party foul if you’re over 21.
