KF aerospace
KF Aerospace is now the official supplier of the Grob G-120TP in north America, the canadian government has signed a contract to purchase 23 of these aircraft for the military school in Moose Jaw, Bill Blair the minister of defence is spending 11.2 billion dollars of canadian tax payers money in favour of the Kelowna based KF Aerospace company, Why spend money on training pilots when other countries are buying drones, pilot less aircraft, Are the Liberals wasting our money, once again?

Re: KF aerospace
Didn't get the type of replies you wanted on that other thread, eh?
Re: KF aerospace
Just too many americans on this web site, non pilots, so it's not surprising, but the replies I did get were interesting in that they still think that pilot training is still necessary, yet drone technology is the future of aviation,

Re: KF aerospace
UAVs have a niche. Manned aircraft will also continue to have a large and important niche in military aviation.
Re: KF aerospace
The liberal government will ALWAYS waste out money. Doesn't mean we don't need pilots in our military.
Re: KF aerospace
The liberal's will continue to give out our tax money to their buddies in Ottawa, next election when Pierre Poilievre becomes the next prime minister I hope he cancels the contract with Skyalyne and it's bureaucrats who are not pilots and know zero about military training. 11.2 billion should be invested in drone technology and UAV's.

It's a good thing the DND listens to its staff to determine its requirements, and not numbskulls on the internet.redlaser wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 12:46 pm The liberal's will continue to give out our tax money to their buddies in Ottawa, next election when Pierre Poilievre becomes the next prime minister I hope he cancels the contract with Skyalyne and it's bureaucrats who are not pilots and know zero about military training. 11.2 billion should be invested in drone technology and UAV's.
Re: KF aerospace
Sadly, DND’s requirements get filtered and modified by PSPC and various ministers. This explains things like the Kingfisher, Cyclone and F35Stratopaused wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 5:27 pmIt's a good thing the DND listens to its staff to determine its requirements, and not numbskulls on the internet.redlaser wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 12:46 pm The liberal's will continue to give out our tax money to their buddies in Ottawa, next election when Pierre Poilievre becomes the next prime minister I hope he cancels the contract with Skyalyne and it's bureaucrats who are not pilots and know zero about military training. 11.2 billion should be invested in drone technology and UAV's.
Re: KF aerospace
My concern is will the RCAF find the Recruits to fly these aircraft!
Re: KF aerospace
We should be thankful that these funds are being invested into the Canadian economy and the training isn't outsourced to a foreign country. It also provides for the option to generate revenue training pilots from other air forces, much like the BCATP . Manned aircraft aren't going away anytime soon.
Re: KF aerospace
Did you know that the new company SkyAlyne doesn't have aircraft or flight instructors, check out their web site, stupid Trudeau gave them 11.2 billion dollars as a startup company,

Re: KF aerospace
A quote from the SkyAlyne website
===========
SkyAlyne was formed in 2018 as a partnership between CAE and KF Aerospace,
===========
another quote
===========
Currently, CAE and KF Aerospace deliver all phases of pilot training to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) through the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program managed by CAE, and the Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) program managed by KF Aerospace.
===========
So you are suggesting that between CAE and KF there are no airplanes, no simulators, and no instructors. Now I'm curious, which companies in Canada would you consider better qualified for the job ? It's not like these two are something new, they have been operating the program for a bunch of years already. This announcement is not really 'something new', but rather a re-visit of a program that's been in place for years, injecting new airplanes etc into it as the current fleet has reached end of life.
And no, the government did not just give them 11.2 billion dollars. They gave them a contract to provide new airplanes, simulators, instructors and facilities to run a training program that will take new candidates from zero to wings standards. Over the 25 year lifespan of the program it's estimated to cost 11.2 billion. Buying a flock of new airplanes, then gas, maintenance and crews on them for 25 years in a hard use training environment isn't cheap.
It's not your run of the mill flight school dishing out ppl in a C-150.
But we all get it, you have a mad on for one of these companies, I wonder which one and why. The fun part will be counting how many different threads you start over time going on and on about your hate-on for these two companies and the entity they formed as a partnership to deliver a very specific high end product for the military.
Re: KF aerospace
Like someone said maybe he's off his meds or needs them re calibrated. Definitely has no idea what he's ranting about.
Re: KF aerospace
What im saying is that we have stupid people running our government wasting tax payers money on aircraft and pilot military training when the rest of the world and countries are investing in drone and UAV technology, 11.2 billion dollars going to Trudeau's liberal friends, and we have an x cop from Toronto running the defense department,
