FAM Flight Recommendations Montreal Area

Post by Cheftony »

Good day,
I am looking into offering a FAM flight experience for my uncle who is turning 70. He was always passionate about aviation and I think he would really enjoy that. Any suggestions in the Montreal area ?
Thank you !

Two outfits with which I have experience west of Montreal are Air Prestige (located in Saint-Lazare) and Lachute Aviation.

Depending on where you're located, Air Prestige is closer to Montreal, is basically a one man show operating out of a small airport - assuming he's operating at the moment - and you'd get a very experienced pilot/instructor taking you up, I'm guessing in a Cessna 150.

Lachute is a flight school with a bigger range of airplanes (Cessna 152s, 172s, a TB10, and a couple of Twin Comanches) operating off of a slightly larger airport. Still essentially in Montreal airspace, so if you want to do a tour of the city, it's well located for that. They're also not far from Ottawa and are at the foot of the Laurentians, so there are different things you can fly over. There's also an aerobatics instructor operating out of that airport who takes customers up in his Pitts Special. If you call them up or contact them through their website, I'm sure they can tell you what the options are.

Thank you, I will make some calls. As mentioned this is for my uncle’s 70th bday. Looking more for an experience where he could take control and experience flying from the left seat of a small SE airplane. Cheers
