Rouge rebranding?
What are you thoughts? This is one of the ex-Lynx aircraft. Looks like rouge might be rebranded under the AC express banner.
Re: Rouge rebranding?
Seems a little antagonistic, looks legit but so far all that is is tape and paper, could it be some maintenance guys who were bored on night shift?

Yea…….. no.
Doesn’t even look legit. The stickers are worse than flair’s bonza crap. Someone had extra letters from Jazz, and thought it would be funny.
Or PAL

Re: Rouge rebranding?
To be clear, what I meant by it looks legit(short for legitimate) was the fact they took the time to mark the middle, make sure it was level and did not look photoshopped.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:08 pm Yea…….. no.

I also questioned bored maintenance guys, I wouldn’t put it past AC managers to be spiteful like this either, some jokes are not funny and maybe I’m wrong but with all the history you won’t find too many AC pilots who laugh when they see it.
Re: Rouge rebranding?
Just some guys with some paper and tape to get everyone wound up.

Re: Rouge rebranding?
Air-Canada did not get any Lynx aircraft - they all went to Westjet
Re: Rouge rebranding?
Are you sure? From everything I can see online Lynx operated 9 aircraft and westjet said they acquired 9 aircraft from Lynx. Maybe there were more “Lynx” aircraft that were never actually delivered to them. Like the Flair ones SWG took.
Re: Rouge rebranding?
That’s what I found online, says AC is taking 8 maxes from BOC that were built for Lynx, will take delivery after modifications etc…
Article behind paywall so only posted the below quote
“Canadian airlines continue to forge agreements for former Lynx Air Boeing 737 MAX jets after the carrier ceased operation in February and after Air Canada reached a deal with BOC Aviation to acquire aircraft built for the defunct carrier”
This one talks about WJ getting all nine of the operating Lynx aircraft

Re: Rouge rebranding?
Ok....the 9 in service /delivered aircraft all went to westjet.

Re: Rouge rebranding?
I think it's 4 that are coming to AC that were originally to go to Lynx. They're currently finishing some work to increase commonality with ACs current fleet, although I understand they won't be fail operational Cat 3 and HUDs won't be installed initially. They will also spend some time in a single class configuration.

Re: Rouge rebranding?
My understanding was that AC and WS made yet another back room deal to divvy up the country just like the AC pulling out of the west and WS pulling out of the east a few years ago. WS got all 9 Lynx aircraft and AC got WS's next few delivery slots from Boeing.
Re: Rouge rebranding?
Meanwhile AC Express has significantly more flights than Encore/WJ in the west in non-hub cities.co-joe wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 11:49 am My understanding was that AC and WS made yet another back room deal to divvy up the country just like the AC pulling out of the west and WS pulling out of the east a few years ago. Re: Rouge rebranding?
Encore is such a weird example of running an airline. It seems like they're not even trying to adequately crew their fleet. Do they even have 30 aircraft in operation?Me262 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 5:27 amMeanwhile AC Express has significantly more flights than Encore/WJ in the west in non-hub cities.co-joe wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 11:49 am My understanding was that AC and WS made yet another back room deal to divvy up the country just like the AC pulling out of the west and WS pulling out of the east a few years ago. Re: Rouge rebranding?
That's a great theory except for the fact that Porter has put 40+ jets into the market that WestJet pulled out of and have another 60 on order.co-joe wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 11:49 am My understanding was that AC and WS made yet another back room deal to divvy up the country just like the AC pulling out of the west and WS pulling out of the east a few years ago. Air Canada is not gaining much.
