I believe there is one scheduled every month for the foreseeable future.Propwhistle wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 2:55 pm Does anybody knows if there’s an E2 class on April/May ?

Re: External E2 hire and Seniority
Does anyone know what experience/hours the current external hires have/are at?
Re: External E2 hire and Seniority
Depends on the fleet.
The lowest timed FO i've flown with on the E2 was in the 22-2500 hour range, where on the DH8 they go significantly less.

Pretty sure it's illegal to not pay employees. Yes, this includes company training for the position which the individual was hired.

Yes. Are there places that don't?goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 6:26 am Pretty sure it's illegal to not pay employees. Yes, this includes company training for the position which the individual was hired.

There is that skydive place that allows the privilege of paying for a "182 type rating" and diver driver course. Followed by a potential opportunity at a job afterwards.
No reputable companies do that.

Some places like to differ first payments until after the training and/or Groundschool complete. I just wanted to make sure

There was a time perimeter airlines would let you attend the ground school and then select candidates from that ground school to be hired based on scores and other observed traits they liked.Speedbrakes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 5:01 pmWhich places?Propwhistle wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 1:47 pm Some places like to differ first payments until after the training and/or Groundschool complete.
Not sure about now, that being said in Manitoba, if you want to be a corrections officer you get accepted to their free training that lasts for three months. You have to do a credit check to prove you can afford to attend the free training without drawing on EI. After the free training, providing you pass, ALL are offered a job. This is the province of Manitoba, so legally it’s doable provincially, as for our industry for type specific training you have to be employed by the company providing the training but I do believe if the contract allows the pay could be reduced to no less than minimum wage. If they can get away with it, they will!
Re: External E2 hire and Seniority
I used to see “training pay” years ago where it was either a reduced or flat rate till you started “working” but not likely at this level even then. Worst I’ve seen recently is Pascan offering DEC’s only FO pay till after their first Line check.
