What a silly post. You could change EU to Canada or US, and the countries to Provinces or States and make the same analysis. Yes, if you work together you give up part of your autonomy or sovereignty. That's the whole point. You limit your own freedom to enjoy help from the other party.

What the EU needs is more cooperation. It's not a coincidence that the US is now trying to break up the EU. The European countries are significantly more powerful while working together than they would ever have been by themselves. In today's climate Europe would have been significantly worse off if there was no EU. It's an illusion to think that would have stopped migrant flows. The UK seems to generally regret leaving the EU.

Democracy and communism are theoretically not mutually exclusive. And there is no cummunist country in Europe at the moment. Abusing that word only weakens your arguments. Save it, the way things are going, you might have to start using it in its proper context.

This is absolutely correct! The EU was created to stop Germany invading France every few decades. It is incredibly inefficient and anti democratic.

What parts are silly exactly? This is how the EU operates.

You can't compare provinces within a single country to separate individual countries - they are not remotely the same thing.

EU is self destructing under the weight of all the lies - Ukraine/COVID/Climate change/Multiculturalism.

I'm not denying what you wrote is wrong. I'm saying it's silly to draw the conclusion that the EU is bad based on your statements. You can make the same complaints about pretty much any government. Perhaps you could conclude that the EU government is as bad as other countries' governments, which could be a fair conclusion. But none of your arguments are EU specific.

Plenty of countries have officials that are not directly elected. Plenty of countries/states have given up some kind of sovereignty in a variety of treaties. Countries make different decisions about immigration and covid and climate change etc based on their point of views that may or may not align with your own.

The problem with the EU is that it isn't powerful enough, mainly because of the -in practice- requirement that every decision is approved unanimously. We need a stronger EU, which will be achieved by giving up *more* sovereignty. You might not like the EU, but do you honestly think European countries would be better off without it in the current political climate?
