New hire lifestyle?

Post by Vsquared »

Curious about how Transat is looking for a new hire these days?

Which base and aircraft are junior currently?
How many days a month on average?
Commuter friendly scheduling?

Appreciate any insight, thanks!

Which base and aircraft are junior currently? Both bases for 321, YYZ for 330, will depend on experience and seniorty draw. YUL 330 junior FO Aug '24 hire
How many days a month on average? Depends a bit on base, and type. For April both types and bases are around 50 block hours. Mind you it's a slower time, come June/July it'll be 75-80+. Slows down again for Fall, and picks up again during winter. Regardless pay is 80 FTC/mth
Commuter friendly scheduling? Commutable, yes. It'll depend on from where. We have those commute form various places in Canada, and a few beyond. During the slow seasons it's easier, during busy summer and winter, you won't like it. Contract negots ongoing, will see if there is something for commuters.

Appreciate any insight, thanks!
