Position Summary:
• The Supervisory Class 1 or 2 Flight Instructor reports to the Assistant Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Flight Instructor and will be responsible for conducting supervision flights, supervising daily operations, assisting with supervision of Class 3 and 4 instructors, providing both in-flight and ground training, various supervision and training related administrative duties, ensuring compliance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations, and performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant or Chief Flight Instructor. Class 1 instructors will also be responsible for training candidates enrolled in the Flight Instructor program. This is a full-time salaried position (40 hours/week) involving both flight and administrative duties. Mitchinson Flight Centre operates seven days a week, year-round, with flight operations scheduled as early as 0600 and as late as 2300. The successful candidate can expect to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs. When supervising, there may be occasional requirements to provide support to instructors after hours via phone or email.

Requirements:
• Canadian Flight Instructor Rating – Class 1 or 2 with a valid medical
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to make decisions and adapt to a changing environment
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with relevant software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Flight Logger, Cirro, etc.)
• Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and other applicable regulations
• Eligibility to work in Canada

Preference will be given to applicants with some or many of the following:
• Previous relevant experience in flight training or supervisory roles
• Group 1 Instrument Rating
• Previous employment as a pilot
• Multi/IFR teaching experience
• Aviation Degree/Diploma
• Airline Transport Pilot License
