Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

POSITION: Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME)
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
LOCATION: Iqaluit, Nunavut ROTATIONAL: Month on/off

Air Nunavut Ltd is currently seeking a licensed AME with experience on Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft for our Iqaluit base. We offer a very competitive rotational salary and meal allowance based on a daily rate to the right candidate who has the experience and skills to carry out the daily maintenance activities within Air Nunavut’s AMO. Housing and vehicle while on base, as well as flights to and from your home airport will be provided by Air Nunavut.

Primary Job Function

• Carry out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.
• Work without supervision to carry out aircraft defect rectification and inspections.
• Control aircraft future maintenance schedule for inspection, component replacement, via hourly, calendar, or cycles as required by Win Air future maintenance forecasts
• Ensure condition, calibration and safety of all Air Nunavut tools and equipment.
• Maintain and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Carry out the maintenance on company aircraft consistent with standards of airworthiness and the quality requirements of the company MCM.
• Ensure that all tooling required for each individual assigned task is in a satisfactory condition and within its calibration date.
• Maintain stock levels of all company consumables, parts, and components.
• Supervise and provide mentorship to apprentices while working on the aircraft.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Must be team oriented and have a positive attitude
• Must have a minimum of 1 year as a licensed AME, with experience on King Air B200 aircraft considered an asset
• Must be able to complete all documentation associated with release of aircraft i.e. logbooks, work orders, deferrals.
• Must have a good knowledge of aircraft parts, materials, shop procedures, and manual amendments.
• Must display to DOM/PRM adequate knowledge of industry practices and understanding of the responsibilities associated with this position as an AME.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to acquire a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and Driver Airside (DA) permit.
• Garmin G1000 experience considered an asset.
• Strong avionics/electrical troubleshooting background considered an asset.
• Experience with King Air B200 aircraft that have a PT6A-61 engine installation considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Win Air maintenance management system considered an asset.
