WestJet can't continue under the current conditions.

For aircrew, both Canada and the US have process in place to validate an aircrew license for a foreigner, those processes wouldn't go away. Alberta will likely have to put in place it's own systems eventually.

But then the stickler, with Alberta being a foreign country, what happens to all the Westjet routes? An Alberta based airline would no longer have the right to do routes originating in YVR, YWG, YYZ, YUL or YHZ to anywhere other than alberta, basically they will have YYC and YEG, as departure points for international flights. No more southern sun flying from the rest of Canada for WJ over the winter out of any of the other larger centers, ie no more Hawaii out of YVR.

If Alberta heads down that path, Encore is essentially DOA, there wont be any place left for them to go, and the WJ mainline will have to shrink substantially, down to just what goes in and out of Alberta.
Weather is albertan, just like Carney is! Maybe where they started, but ownership rests in Toronto.

It's even more complicated than that. There isn't necessarily an automatic right for carriers to operate from one country to another - bilateral air services agreements are signed and approved. So while an orderly secession process would likely cover many international treaties such as air services, it's not a given.

What matters is not where ownership is located, but, the address of record on the AOC.

Westjet address as per a search on the TC website
=====
22 AERIAL PLACE NE
CALGARY AB T2E 3J1
ALBERTA
=====

Which begs another question. If Alberta goes it's own way, will they have foreign ownership of airline laws like most countries ? That may open another whole kettle of hurt.

No matter how you twist it, secession from Canada by Alberta will introduce a world of hurt for Westjet and it's employees.

I hate to tell you, but we have rights as well as a Supreme Court! But I guess you guys don’t believe in treaties so that’s out the window 😂
When shown evidence you are wrong your response is that people have the right to be criminals. This is why we want to separate from you. I can't understand your way of being at all. How can you think protecting criminals is in the interest of a healthy society? You are infantilizing them, just like you infantilize First Nations peoples.
You know what? I didn’t specify things I thought were obvious so you have that. Do you want Singapore style drug laws? You get the good with the bad.

You have a flag saying @#$! carney? The Singapore government would literally beat you (caning)

You want a lifted truck? Absolutely not 😂

You want to fill your gas tank outside the country? The border guards literally check your fuel level before you leave.

Like I said you get the good with the bad, would you put up with that legal system to get the results you want?

There’s no logic to anything they say.

There are few things larger and more intrusive into people’s lives than ‘small’ conservative governments.

Because you have to manage your own life? Make your own decisions? The last 10 years of Liberals have intruded into Canadians lives more than any government in modern times.

That's false equivalence. 100% fallacy.

Besides, Liberals are censoring, banning lifted trucks and all other gasoline vehicles, and putting their fingers into your fuel tank anyway...

Onex just sold off 25% of WestJet for $550m. Or about 59% of what that stake was worth when Onex bought 6 years ago.

Look at Doug Ford as an example? He's medaling in municipal politics instead of focusing on the province, he has the biggest and most expensive cabinet in Ontario's history but campaigned on small government. He's banning things left and right, cancelling elections out of spite.

I see you fell for the AI carney video lmao. That's what you're not getting though, if you want harsher penalties for things like drug use they go hand in hand with a more "good of the many" type government where you're going to have a lot less focus on the individual. It would be like asking for American style capitalism but Scandinavian social net. You can't have both. Regardless of what I think we have a charter and a supreme court.

Can you explain to me why "rule of law" conservatives seem to love things like breaking Treaties or ignoring people's charter rights?

I don't know what you're talking about "AI Carney video" - the Liberal enacted policy under Trudeau and still in place is to ban the sale of new ICE vehicles by 2035.

There was an ai video saying that Mark Carney was going to be window tint and lifted trucks. Because the liberal platform doesn’t say anything about lifted vehicles I’m assuming that’s where you got that info from

I didn't realize that was what the "lifted truck" comment was referencing, just assumed that it was chosen as a stereotypical idea for Liberals to ban.

My point was that since present Liberal policies will discontinue the sale of ICE by 2035, that would effectively ban lifted trucks because nobody is going out in a lifted cybertruck...

Pleasure boats, GA aircraft, snow machines, dirt bikes, SxSs, quads... then flying, tourism, travel... it will all eventually be on the table... out of reach for regular people. They're moving to slowly remove access on crown land and resource roads too, then you have the sport fishery slot sizes and opportunities narrowing, hunting and firearms are being targeted for elimination...

Go to work and take transit to your 600 sqft condo and live in your little world. That's the future they picture for you.

And none of those are regulating your clothing, holding you indefinitely without charges or trial, or telling you what you can and can’t do with your private parts like conservatives have done and are doing south of the border.

Wow, Buffalo Bob has already forgotten the "political prisoners",held against their will by the libtards who spent millions of tax-payors dollars on prosecuting the "Freedom Convoy" leaders, only to ultimately charge them with mischief charges!

You mean the sicko parents south of the border who are allowing their young children to be surgically (and permanently) mutilated over the gender bender nonsense?

Last I recall, Liberals were forcing us to do medical procedures against our free will too. Experimental vaccines that proved to not even work in the end - turns out they all owned shares though, worked for what they were trying to do.

Just like the climate alarmism and everything they're mandating surrounding that... turns out they all own shares in that too.
