Your Team:
Join Flair’s Network Planning and Scheduling team, where strategic slot management supports our expanding global footprint and enhances operational efficiency. The Slot Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing slot allocations at key airports within our domestic and international network. This includes managing slot messaging, coordinating slot submissions, ensuring efficient slot usage, and driving process improvements to support the airline’s continued growth. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams, slot coordinators, airport authorities, and regulatory bodies to align slot management with Flair’s broader network planning strategy. You will also represent Flair at the IATA Slot Conference and participate in high-level discussions on slot coordination and policy development.
This role is based on-site at our Vancouver, BC (YVR) office.
A Day in the Life:
- Manage and optimize slot messaging and allocations at both domestic and international airports, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
- Oversee slot submissions, usage monitoring, and compliance at Level 2 and 3 airports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in slot management processes and policies.
- Collaborate with airport authorities, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to align slot strategies with operational goals.
- Represent the airline at the IATA Slot Conference, advocating for the airline's interests in global slot management discussions.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between network planning, OCC, and other departments to optimize slot usage.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards related to slot allocation, usage, and reporting.
- Analyze slot usage data to identify trends, opportunities for optimization, and areas for improvement in slot management.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including airlines, slot coordinators, and airport authorities, to ensure smooth slot allocation and resolve any issues.
- Collaborate with the Network Planning and OCC teams to ensure slot availability aligns with the airline’s growth and operational needs.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential slot-related conflicts or challenges, minimizing operational disruptions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Additional certifications or training in airport operations, network planning, or relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., IATA, ICAO) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including management experience in a similar environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation operations, with a strong focus on slot management or airport coordination.
- Proven track record in managing slot allocations at major international airports, particularly at Level 2 and 3 airports, is preferred.
- Experience in preparing and submitting slot messages, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and airport policies.
- Familiarity with IATA Slot Conference processes and global slot management practices.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including network planning, scheduling, and operational control centers (OCC).
- Previous experience in engaging with airport authorities, regulatory bodies, and slot coordinators to resolve slot-related issues and optimize usage.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to slot management and airport operations.
- Strong ability to analyze slot usage data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations for optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving slot-related conflicts or challenges, minimizing operational disruptions.
- Experience with slot management software and other relevant tools for reporting, tracking, and optimizing slot usage.
- Strong strategic mindset to align slot management with broader network and operational planning objectives.
- Capable of negotiating slot allocations and resolving conflicts with airport authorities and slot coordinators.

- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
