Job Summary: The SMS - Coordinator plans, implements, and coordinates safety, health, and environmental programs and ensures compliance with required regulations, procedures, and policies with a primary focus in Aviation. The role Facilitates identification of safety and environmental risks and promotes reduction or elimination of potential accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and safety-related financial losses. The coordinator will conduct safety inspections, investigations, and training to support compliance with federal safety directives and North-Wright Airways’ Health and Safety Program.
Location: Norman Wells, NT
Qualifications:
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or equivalent is required.
- Valid Canadian Driver’s Licence is required.
- Experience and background in Safety Management is preferred.
- Basic Understanding of current legislation, codes of practice, bulletins, and other safe
- work practice requirements and recommendations, in both aviation and occupational regulations.
- Familiarity with disability management, accident investigations, workplace inspections, and job hazard analysis
- WHMIS 2015, Fire Safety, First Aid & CPR, Working at Heights, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Crew Resource Management certifications are preferred.
