When you do PGIs will you speak with such poor grammar? If so I will give you a job right now.

I’m sorry I hate people who correct grammar and spelling on here but come on now.

MRO....you are an idiot. the guy's first language isn't english. nice warm canadian welcome there buddy! Gabriel, creo que la mayoridad de la gente en Canada no importa que tu idoma primera sea espanol. Mas important es tu capacidad como ensenador, y instructor. Por supuesto, hay que hablar ingles bastante bien, pero no importa si faltas unas palabras o haces unos pocos errores grammaticas.

As for getting hired where you train, it's hard to say. You should speak individually to each school, and see what their needs are. Talk with the owner and find out whether or not it is even possible. Get on the phone, and start calling and talking to people. I would suggest that if you were thinking of coming out west, Canadian Flight Centre and Pro IFR both in ZBB would be good places to start.

cheers

That's right 3.14lot. In fact the more instructors there are the better it is for them.

P.S. Don't you mean "CYKF"?

Hi Gabriel! Le dije en "Chat" que la gente fuera a veces muy buena en saltar todo sobre la gente que primera lengua no es inglesa, y no hacer caso de ella. ¡Usted manó! ¡(y su inglés es MUCHO mejor que mi español! Tuve que utilizar un Web site el traducir para esto,MI gramática es tan probablemente muy mala).

MRO: Í just usually give people the benefit of the doubt. usually with grammar like that, a person's first language couldn't possibly be english. in this case i obviously knew from other sources that his language was spanish. anyways, the idiot term was not in all seriousness....just off the cuff that's all. Friendly sparring. cheers.

Ya whatever, I guess I should have investigated more closely before I posted. I think I’m gonna change my name to CSI on here.

Forgive me for assuming that a post on avcanada would be in English. I think there is a French forum set up to alleviate such confusion. But your right I’m and idiot and I’m the only person who could have made that mistake.

I believe it was in English.

Since neither French nor English is his first language, which one should he post in to "alleviate confusion"? Or should he just not post until he speaks and writes perfectly in one or both of the "official" avcanada languages?

Look I’m not saying that he needs to speak perfectly in one or the other. But it was written in English, sloppy English. Without any knowledge of his language of origin the post looks like it was simply written quickly and poorly. I don’t think that assumption makes me and idiot.
Knowing that it is a language issue and not a lazy issue I never would have given him a rough time.

I think wally's and my point is: a lot of the grammar and spelling that gets jumped on here on avcanada can often be traced to the fact that someone is posting in a language that is not their first language. People should take a minute to look at their profile (or simply their location right here on the threads) before criticising someone's lack of grammar or spelling skills. Even if there is no indication of where the poster is from in either of those spots, the time taken to check may cool off the knee jerk reaction to do the criticising in the first place.

(I'm not picking on you specifically MRO. As you said, you're certainly not the only one on here doing it.)

Ya I hear what you are saying. Ordinarily I am the last guy to ever pick on that type of thing but in this case I thought it was pretty bad.

I never thought of looking into the profile and location and all the rest, because I never considered the problem of esl.

I am really not looking forward to my next spelling mistake, somebody just gonna jump all over me.

:)

Sorry if I sounded "preachy". I can misspell words with the best or worst of 'em. You only have to come into the chat room to see that. I promise I won't be the one to jump on any of your grammar or spelling errors.
