Who Wants to Fly WJ

Post by pelmet »

Now getting seats that don't recline. It is one thing for Ryanair to do it when you pay a dollar but WJ has similar prices to AC and Porter,

Porter or AC for me thanks.

I don't care on a 1 or 2 hour flight. But if this is a redeye or something 4 plus hours even a slight recline makes a huge difference in the quality of sleep.

No recline is a godsend. So sick of the general public who has no courtesy before they do so.

Don't pick that seat. And if you do they are fixed at a slight recline beyond the full upright of the previous seats.

WestJet is not the only airline in North America that does this. Majors in the US already have these seat configuration.

Beside spirit and frontier, name me another airline that has 28in pitch in seats in economy. It’s a horrible trend and a complete 180 of the company’s current messaging to improve guest experience after screwing the passengers for years with swoop and Sunwing tail swaps.
Enjoy being forced to deadhead in one of these on a transatlantic crossing. Think it won’t happen to you ?

One of the few messages from the WestJet MEC I can get behind.

It's also one thing to do 28" seat pitch on shorter flights, or with real LCC's where you'll pay $50 for a ticket. Passengers are literally better off on a Swoop or Sunwing configured aircraft, or Flair for that matter. I can't imagine anybody being a repeat customer, especially on a trans-Atlantic flight or anything 4 hours or greater in 28" pitch. Westjet is going after the lowest common denominator, and every airline in North America that's doing this is doing poorly. Even Flair said the model doesn't work. Good luck.

I can guarantee it won’t happen to me.

Maybe it’s time to switch employers if it’s a possibility. Doesn’t AC put you in first class?
