AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!

Post by ‘Bob’ »

Position Overview

Contract Term: May – October 2026
Six months. You will need other employment. Read on.
Location: Based in Southern Alberta (local candidates strongly preferred)
Yeah.. because you’ll have to still live at home or with a sugar momma/daddy to afford this job.
Aircraft: N-Registered PAC750XL
By themselves this isn’t a big deal.. together.. it screams a shady operation.
Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday (5 days per week), based locally

Why don’t you just say what it is? What do you have to hide?
Compensation: Minimum $3,000/month net base + daily performance bonus
The net is cute.. but remember.. this is only six months out of the year. “Daily performance bonus” is probably free coffee. Real companies advertise what it is. Assume it’s nothing or very little.

In other words.. this job will just pay for an apartment in Southern Alberta and nothing else.
Employment Type: Sub-contractor (must have own GST number)
Not only are they saving a ton on payroll tax and deductions.. but so are you! Wait.. the bank wants my gross income? They will barely even give me a credit card for my gross earnings? What do you mean I have no EI for off season? What do you mean I have no disability or health insurance or workers compensation? Hey but good thing I can write off the gas in my mom’s car!
Training: Provided in late April 2026 (no training bond required)

Of course not. It’s not a type rated aircraft and you’re not even affording a ticket to New Zealand to go top dressing in the only other ones in the world.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following minimum criteria:
- 1,000 hours Total Time
Good luck. So many better opportunities out there.
- FAA Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating

- Valid FAA Medical Certificate
Don’t bother.
- Minimum 100 hours Turbine Experience

Meaningless.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work safely with minimal supervision
Slavery
- Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure
This is one of the dumbest things put in job ads. I avoid pressure, I don’t seek it.
- Solid Pilot Decision Making (PDM) skills
Excludes anyone willing to work this job

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

- Flight experience exceeding minimum requirements

- Previous experience on PAC750XL or C-208

- Tailwheel experience

- Residence in Southern Alberta
No self respecting pilot with the minimum qualifications would apply. If you have 208 time you can make at least three times as much seasonally, five times as much year round.
Application Notes:

Minimum requirements are firm – only applicants meeting the stated criteria will be considered. Candidates exceeding minimums will be shortlisted.
Hahaha!
Training will be conducted in late April 2026.
It better be paid! (It probably isn’t).

This role is ideal for a professional pilot who thrives in a seasonal, high-responsibility environment and values a supportive, safety-first operation.
A professional pilot with no self-worth.

It is only beaten by the ramp to right seat jobs that many still deem acceptable.

A good opportunity to build some hours and get ahead. I worked for a skydiving operation. It was good fun and the guy who interviewed for my first airline job had done the same and it helped in the interview as he had good memories of it as well.

Be careful who you take your advice from. You don't get interviewed by the head of the union for a job.

Apply with 500 hours and try to get in contact with the right person.

Yes, for a new pilot. A pilot with 1000 TT and 100 on a turbine already has a turbine job making more than $3k + "performance bonus". Most importantly, it's likely permanent and year round. This ad has predatory written all over it.

You mean I'm not a good pilot if I drive a forklift for 2 years?

Forklift??? Are you joking?
Many here wouldn't trust you with more than a snow shovel for two years.

I mean clearly two years slinging bags, while you forget all the hard earned skills, is a great use of professional training.
I'm just glad I came into this as a second career and simply laughed at jobs suggesting this, as everyone should do.

Unless you think other trained professionals should play dress up at menial jobs after their training too?

You have to pay him for the privilege of being around a TV superstar, and getting to fly such rare and special (heap of shit) war bird era planes...

I wonder if he pays the fence painter by the mile too?
