Job Purpose:
Our continuous growth creates a demand for heavy maintenance leads. We service the Dash 8 Q400, Dash 8 100/300 aircrafts, along with, the CRJ100/200/700/900 aircrafts, Boeing 737 (all series) and Embraer E170/175 aircraft.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Production Managers, the AME Avionics Lead is responsible for providing mentorship and guidance to the team responsible for servicing, repair and certification of aircraft electrical and electronic systems in accordance with the policy and procedures defined in both the JD Aero Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), the applicable Regulations.
Responsibilities and Competencies:
• Actively participate in the JD Aero Safety Management System and Quality Assurance programs
• Lead and mentor junior team members, including planning and organizing works tasks
• Review work scope, estimate materials and labour, submit requests for materials to stores
• Perform all avionics maintenance on aircraft pitot static, communication, navigation, autopilot, flight director, flight management, and ELT in accordance with Transport Canada Regulations and Standards
• Perform modifications to previously mentioned avionic systems in accordance with manufacturers service bulletins, engineering instructions, airworthiness directives or Transport Canada approved supplementary type certifications
• Ensure the proper certification of all components installed on aircraft
• Ensure timely and accurate Technical Record entries are completed as required
• Identify defects and ensure Service Difficulty Reports are submitted for avionics in accordance with the regulatory requirements
• Ensure all applicable equipment is properly maintained and facilities are clean, safe and appropriately equipped
• Provide mentorship and supervision of non-licensed personnel ensuring that critical knowledge and workmanship is transferred to them
• Lead by example and be a positive role model for others to follow
• Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by management
• Respect and uphold all the Company policies, procedures & performance expectations Communicate any discrepancies, process gaps or noticeable trends to Executive Management
• Adhere to and participate in the Company SMS program
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Department
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ‘E’ License required
• Post-Secondary education in recognized Aircraft Maintenance/Avionics Engineer Program
• Minimum three (3) years of experience working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Avionics
• Previous experience as a team lead or supervisor considered an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with ERP systems
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude as well as proven expertise in performing Avionics maintenance and repairs in accordance with their training, regulatory requirements and company procedures.
• Knowledge of avionics materials and parts and a strong understanding of the regulations governing their acceptance for certified aircraft and the process of quarantine action.
• Proven success in performing under pressure and the ability to multitask while paying close attention to details and the surrounding environment
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written to ensure safe and compliant outcomes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds

Working hours:
Working hours are mainly 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and 8:00 am to 4:30 Monday to Friday with rotating weekend shifts. Extra hours may be required to support operation at critical times.
