Jesus I hope not. Go fly a king air if you still need hours for your ATPL.

$138 an hour to captain a widebody. Embarrassing. They’d be lucky to get anyone with an IATRA to go there. What a stain on the industry.

Jesus, $138/hr for WB captain? And people actually work there? There are 1900 captains making more than that.

Ok, I'll bite... how is it dinosaur mentality to ask that a candidate has done a minimum amount of PIC time - where you, to a great degree, live and die by your own decisions, and the only person looking back at you when you look to the left is your own reflection - before you get an ATPL?

But if they all retire, who would be your Captain?

I'm 35 you dolt, you'll be waiting a while. Probably in the right seat because you don't have an ATPL.

And us retiring will help you how? For you to learn absolutely nothing and upgrade at a young age being unqualified as a skipper and unable to make sound decisions? Sit back,
Relax and enjoy the ride.

Cuz with that attitude, you’re not going anywhere son.

Remember, the great majority of them had to work for the likes of Buffalo Joe (or drink beers with him as a fellow dinosaur), carry drums, paint fences so that after a few years they had the honour of touching the controls. And 5000hrs to go FO on a dash. They can't phantom someone at 1500 flying an airliner.
