Pilot Hiring Preferences

Post by meowernaut »

Hey folks, curious how AC generally views early 705 turboprop command versus 705 jet FO time when applying, and whether one path meaningfully affects competitiveness or eventual upgrade prospects down the line.

I understand hiring is dynamic but a general consensus would very much be appreciated. Thanks all in advance.

Everything depends on what cycle of the hiring boom you are in. 2022/2023 all they cared about was bums in seats, so 1900 guys and even PC12 fellas where getting into AC. Go back 10 years and turboprop command was more important than FO jet time. Hiring at AC in 2025 has been 25% the speed of 2022/2023 so I imagine there is a bit of a backlog of people trying to get in so command time might be seen as an advantage
