...Hey...I am a little shaky right now because you have not giving details. I assume its Thunder's MU2...if so...without giving out too may details if the worst has happened...with respect to the families...

TERRACE, B.C. (CP) - A Navair charter courier aircraft crashed moments after taking off from the Northwest Regional Airport on Tuesday night, killing the pilot and co-pilot.
Airport manager Laurie Brown said the small, twin-engine Mitsubishi aircraft crashed at 6:40 p.m., less than a minute after taking off from the airport enroute to Vancouver.
"Shortly after departure there was an impact, just south of the airport," said Brown.
"The airport staff responded and local RCMP and Terrace fire department.
"The two individuals on board didn't make it," he said.
The RCMP said in a prepared statement that emergency crews located the aircraft "several hundred feet from the runway where it had crashed into a wooded area."
The aircraft was on fire but fire department personnel extinguished the blaze.
The names of the deceased were not immediately available.
The Navair aircraft makes daily trips to the airport, transporting packages and other business correspondence, said Brown.
The weather was overcast at the time of the crash but visibility was about 15 kilometres.
He said the temperature was about zero but there was no snow or rainfall and the runway was in good shape.
"There were several people realized something was up when they saw a bit of an orange glow," said Brown.
The RCMP remained at the scene overnight and Transport Canada was sending inspectors to begin an investigation on Wednesday morning.
The B.C. Coroner's Service is also involved in the investigation.

Condolences to the families, very sad, especially so close to christmas. I also know some pilots there so I would appreciate it if someone could pm me with the crew...initials are fine if people are uncomfortable posting names without them being publicly released yet.

my condolences to the family and friends as well as everyone at navair... this has to be the worst year ive seen since i started flying for this kind of stuff and having this happen days before xmas is heartbreaking... keep in mind a bad day flying is infinately better than a good day stuck behind a desk and these guys passed doing what they loved...
