Immunotheraphy

Post by cessnapilot »

Hello all,

I was diagnosed with renal tumor which has been removed. I'm clear of cancer now and TC also cleared me to return to work. But I have been recommended Immunotherapy (Pembrolizumab) which will last a year. I'm wondering if I can continue flying with my Category 1 medical while undergoing this therapy. Does anyone have any experience with undergoing immunotherapy? I read somewhere that you can't fly while taking chemotheraphy but no mention of immunotheraphy. I would really appreciate any insight or advice. I have been out of flying for a while and was finally looking forward to get back in it. The idea of another year grounded is pretty depressing but if that's what it has to be then that's what it has to be.
Thanks
