Any recent change to payscale other the one posted on PCC?
Job posting says $67 start but does not indicate min hours.
How is the schedule like for the month?

But wait for Cdnavater to explain why I’m wrong. He won’t be long.

Re: Jazz Payscale
Contributing to a low starting wage is “airline” pilots in Canada with no ATPL. It lowers the value of the ATPL. Thus lowering the starting wages. The trade-off to the lower wage is immediate access to airline seniority lists and opportunities etc…

Shucks. I was expecting you to have a wonderfully long explanation. You do have some valid points at times lol.cdnavater wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 9:25 amHe’s not wrong!CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 12:25 amTerrible. And pay is garbage.

Re: Jazz Payscale
Pay absolutely does suck. Maybe not if you have 250 hrs, but there isn't a shortage of 250hr pilots. There are lots of pilots in Canada, with no desire to go to Air Canada. But they are currently making $140,000 flying a medivac, so the idea that they will leave that job to come to Jazz, to start sub $100,00, and spend the better part of a decade to get back to what they were making, while also having a worse quality of life, is simply not realistic. These are the pilots Jazz needs to try and attract. But to do that, they need to demonstrate a clear path to good money, while having a solid work life balance. And also that Jazz is a place you can come hang your hat, instead of having to worry if it will exist after 2035. But Jazz management, along with AC, seem to be stuck in the 90's. So as long as that is where they are at, this will be a problem moving forward. And if their entire plan is to wait for Porter to fail, I think it is becoming clear that isn't likely going to happen either.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 11:50 amShucks. Personally, I feel as though the plan is to let it die from attrition, as the top scale guys retire, there will be a few stragglers that maybe stick around and a few that are stuck because they don’t interview well.truedude wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 3:00 pmPay absolutely does suck. My guess, come 2035 or shortly before that there will be an extension for 5 or maybe 10 years for 40 fins or whatever we can staff with the remaining lifers, while continuing to fill the right seat with whatever is available at the time. They don’t want us on top scale but they can’t simply shut the doors with the right to follow the work, so they play the long game and eventually there will be no one left to staff the airline.
Of course this all changes with a change in the pilot supply market, shall see but at this point my plan is to retire before any of the above happens.
