Pilot Hiring 2026

Post by Av8andsleep »

Anyone have any ideas of what to expect for 2026? I’ve heard rumours about only 290 hires expected for 2026, is there any truth to this. From your experiences, does the hiring board look at 705 pic time more than total time? I also have heard that they look at past written tc exams in the interview, if I had to rewrite my inrat and Samara should I kiss my dreams of aircanada goodbye ?

Definitely. In the current market AC only needs the best. The days of multiple training failures and exam attempts are over. Going forward only the best to fly the flag.

Jk. You will be fine. Hiring numbers ebb and flow every month. Get the app in and sit and wait for your shot.

Remember this quote about a career at air canada. It's not your flying / performance they care about. It's ensuring you don't trigger the emotional intelligence of a 787 captain. So long as you don't trigger them, and let them feel like they can teach you something, you'll get hired.

Nothing else matters. They will go to the moon and back and make sure you see a psychologist, cardiologist, ent specialist, before they actually turn you down.

IF they're really worried about your cockpit skills, you'll get called for a BOEING 767 SIMULATOR EVALUATION.

It really is that simple. Sorry to the ones who are offended by this truth.

3 classes a month for the next 30 years.

Read previous posts. If you’re actually a real person. This has been discussed 645 times previously.

You beat me to it..

On page 1 of the Air Canada forum, there are a whopping 17 threads on the topic of hiring and life at AC. How many more f*cking threads are needed? If you're not getting called, it must be that they saw how lazy you lot are and given the amount of times you all failed to do a litttttttle bit of research beyond the second thread from the top, I don't blame them

Focus on building quality experience, staying current, and preparing well for the interview. AC hires real people with real histories — not perfect resumes.

Invest in a 23andMe test and claim any DNA that is not Western European even if it's 0.1%

AC hires you based on who is willing to put up with the deplorable QOL, and how hard youre willing to suck their asses during the interview. Anything for that maple leaf in your hat.

Ok so like every interview in the world? Name a company that doesn't want to hear about how keen and willing you are to be lucky enough to join their company and how it's been your dream your whole life? I think some even want you to do a grade 8 presentation for them.

You're a sharp one Jungle boy!!
