Re: WB?
They placed an order for 25 Airbus A350s last week.
Seriously though, they're about half done the expansion of baby-NB (or overgrown regional jet, whatever you wanna call it).
They're not engaging in another major fleet type expansion at the same time.

Re: WB?
You are either a troll or you shouldn't be a pilot. Within two minutes you posted two simple questions that the vast majority of us here know from being in the industry, and the rest of us could find out in 7 seconds by using google.
Re: WB?
It's probably a holdover account from the COVID subform. They're lost souls now, drifting aimlessly on a forum that no longer provides them with the opportunity to post the click-bait or rage-bait material they used to. So instead, to appear to still be an active account it's posting AI slop, awaiting the next black swan event to be reactivated as a forum troll.

This place attracts a lot of mental health cases, it's either this or they're out yelling at park benches. BTW...
When's Air Canada going to go into space tourism?

I heard Elon Musk bought Canada. One hour of space flight gets 10 hours of night X-country PIC time. Send your log books to :Orion's Fannypack wrote: ↑Wed Sep 10, 2025 3:42 pmThis place attracts a lot of mental health cases, it's either this or they're out yelling at park benches. BTW...

Re: WB?
Wouldn't a merger and/or expanded agreement with Air Transat seem much more likely? Why do they need to own the aircraft themselves? Porter is definitely going places, as they seem to be the only company owned by people who care for its success.

Re: WB?
The chance that Porter will want to acquire Air Transat is slim. Air Transat is an easy partner to connect and sell tickets with because they expand the Porter network and for Transat it helps fill seats. The TS operation is very different from Porter's and would be a bigger burden to Porter's operations than benefit if it was absorbed.

But think of the endless QC bailouts they'll have access to!flieslikeachicken wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 11:00 amThe chance that Porter will want to acquire Air Transat is slim. I commute and take Porter all the time because of the consistent seat availability. Rarely more than half full. They can't be anywhere close to making money.
Re: WB?
Judging profitability of an entire airline based off of an extremely short route in the shoulder season, using an aircraft with lower trip costs and cheaper labour than the competition, with a lower complexity/expensive operation than the competition….? With the high loads on routes I’ve been operating my perspective would be the opposite. I’m sure the reality is somewhere in the middle here but judging profitability off of just loads on just one route is hilariously naive.
I’d be scared to know the average IQ of your typical Avcan user

Re: WB?
I don't commute on a "short route" like you seem to assume that I do. It's well over 3 hours on their E2. But I love it! Less than half full planes in the eyes of a commuter? There's nothing better! I hope they don't go anywhere for that sake alone!8895 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 10:20 amJudging profitability of an entire airline based off of an extremely short route in the shoulder season, using an aircraft with lower trip costs and cheaper labour than the competition, with a lower complexity/expensive operation than the competition….? Re: WB?
You mean like all the people they terminated after Covid and contracted out the jobs to the lowest bidder? Porter is about to lose its fourth ground handler in five years in YOW,The LAA has given Swissport 30 days to clean up their act of they will follow Menzies,MaintAir out the door due to damage and just all around dangerous work environment.Maybe Porter should of kept their own ground handlers.

Different employers, but mainly the same group of employees.derk99 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 5:20 pmYou mean like all the people they terminated after Covid and contracted out the jobs to the lowest bidder? That said, the new ground handler in YOW hasn't put nearly as many holes in E2s as the previous one did.
Re: WB?
We all wish we had our own. But this is what happens when you sell out a critical portion of the operation to the lowest bidder.derk99 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 5:20 pm You mean like all the people they terminated after Covid and contracted out the jobs to the lowest bidder? Kewl. Glad you can make it home. Maybe don’t worry so much about profitability of your competitors. Unless you’re like a super duper aviation accountant with balance sheets for all airlines In the country. Sit down, STFU and enjoy your commute home.Blackdog0301 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 5:05 pmI commute and take Porter all the time because of the consistent seat availability. Rarely more than half full.
