Pension Estimator dropped

Post by FL030 »

I noticed recently my pension estimate on the ALPA website estimator dropped around 4% for the CWIPP plan. Does anyone know what changed?

You control the inputs (monthly hours, career path, benefit increases), so most of the time it's on the user end.

But if you've changed nothing and the estimate is different with the latest update (it's done after each CMSC bid), there might have been a change in the assumptions. Send a DART to the pension committee, they'll figure it out for you.

I have never found the pension calculator to be all that accurate. Especially when it comes to timeline to hold certain seats. It's very conservative.

There's also an option to estimate your cwipp pension and compare returns to a hypothetical RRSP at the contract search tool https://airlinecontract.com/ now. Need to sign up as AC pilot though. Just FYI. Cheers.
