Is this a joke?

Ground to pilot. Only, we don't have planes. Or pilots. And no path to get you in one.
But we super duper, pinky promise, that you'll meet some sweet pilots and I'm sure one will hire you. But you can't leave if it happens too quickly.

This ad is practically fraud.......

LOL. Basically a trianing bond without training?

On the plus side (no sarcasm), they are paying around 20 dollars/hour and it's daytime hours, so not the most abusive job.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Yep. $20 an hour ramp job, fine.
But don't bullshit and call it a pathway to flying.
It's barely better than just hanging around an airport all day offering to wash planes if they'll take your resume.

Yes. And for 20/21 dollars an hour in Manitoba, they might actually find a non pilot employee who likes airplanes and aviation and would actually like to work there full time indefinitely. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot a bit if they are trying to market it to pilots yet are worried they'll leave first chance they get (which they will).

On an unrelated note, I need a labourer to do some work at one of my sites. It's a great opportunity for an aspiring pilot.

Why? I'm a pilot. Some of my friends are pilots and come hang out to drink beer. If one of them looks at a hole and thinks "Hey, nice hole" I might mention it was dug in 12 hours by someone who scored a ripping 80% on their PSTAR yet has alarmingly little aptitude with a pickaxe. Or not. We'll probably just keep drinking beer.
This is not a passive position, but a live, front line, hole digging position. Occasionally holes will have to be filled in.
$20/hr.
No weirdos.

I am in. However I must warn you I do have moderate axima. I only ask that you provide skin lotion and threaten to spray me with a hose if I do not apply the lotion to my skin frequently.

Substance dependence, weird kinks, partially illiterate... can't fool me, you're obviously an experienced roofer! You're hired! Since you're not applying for the non-pilot-in-waiting-position I'll have to pay you $30/hr. If you know any pilots who can do it for 20 lemme know.
