Interview -> Medical -> Job Offer Wait Times

Post by flieslikeachicken »

I have heard of several different timelines for the interview to medical to job offer wait times.

To those who have recently been hired (or rejected), what was the wait time between the different stages of your hiring process?

Good grief how many freakin threads are needed on the topic of hiring at AC? There's about a hundred others and ya'll keep adding more. Your lack of initiative in doing a bit of reading is astonishing. Definitely not qualities AC or any other airline is looking for I'm sure. Stop being lazy, be the adult that you are and do some simple searching.

That was very helpful, thank you for your input.

I interviewed and had my medical both in April. Nothing yet.

They mentioned a June and July ground school, but also to expect 8-12 weeks

Interview and medical are booked at roughly the same time. My buddy just got hired, Interview and Med were in Feb, offer was just over 10 weeks later. Someone on a different thread just had the same experience. Seems they’re booking PIT about a month out.

How long roughly was it for anyone here from applying to hearing back about an interview?

Buddy. Read the chats. Literally dozens of people have said how long things are taking. Also, we live in a dynamic world. Things change constantly. Apply, and wait for a call. That’s how it works

Here we have yet another rookie who wants the answers spoon fed to him before looking up VERY accessible and plentiful information that already answers stupid questions like these...

The two of you grumps are not helpful. Sometimes the best course of action is to leave your inside thoughts inside your head.

Or the best course of action for people is to actually do research and not be lazy. It’s shocking to me how many repeated questions we have every month. You wanna be helpful @flieslikeachicken, then answer the guys question

When one asks a forum that the topic is related to, what exactly do you think that they are doing?

All I said, was that there are numerous threads about this exact question. And I suggested this person read previous threads to get information before asking the same question

Tell you what, I’ll answer the question for this fella, from friends getting hired at AC to the numerous threads that collaborate their hiring timelines. It’s generally about two months from interview to medical then another week or two for the offer, if you meet the experience levels and don’t have medical issues.

But read the other threads to gauge your own timeline.

Not helpful because we aren't spoon feeding the answers to you? Answers that are littered all over this very forum by lazy people like you who simply refuse to do a very quick browse of even the first page of this forum.

I wonder if that laziness translates to your work ethic. Are you the type to not read the books and just ask other pilots for all the answers?

Thank you for the personal attack, I appreciate it.

Sorry, I really don't mean to be an ass about it (I actually mean that), but it's perplexing why none of you bother to look up the answers before creating repeating threads. You and the next X amount of newbs can be helpful by looking up the answers to these questions in the dozens of recent threads on this topic before deciding to add yet another hiring question thread

It gets difficult finding information in these forums when it's littered by the same 3 people just making complaints. Would be a lot easier to find information without reading 20 messages initiated by one grumpy pilot who forgets what grass feels like. A simple answer to an honest quest would clean up so much bs

There really isn't any rhyme or reason as to the variable wait times. Some guys can have an ideal resume with command time on any of the fleet types AC flies and still wait longer than someone else with maybe only turboprop time.

Keep in mind there are many variables that can affect result wait times. The interview itself has 4 parts - the resume, the interview itself, the psych eval and the medical. Any number of anomalies can put you behind the next guy so if you know of someone that got called ahead of you, I wouldn't stress too much. The cliche "no news is good news" is fairly accurate here. I've heard of weeks to months for some guys.

Good luck and see ya'll on property ;) We are nearing 6000 pilots, unreal!

OR, get the answers on the multiple recent threads that answer this very question. How are you all missing the point? Therein lies the problem. Also, I am no longer a pilot. I gave up on that years ago. I went for job stability and consistent pay over the aviation industry, so you are certainly right that I forget what the aviation grass feels like, but no I am not a pilot. I'm just a realist who tells it like it is and you snowflakes go and get triggered by the truth.

As people above mentioned, the wait times vary quite a bit. Its been quite a few years ago now but I remember it being interview and psych evaluation on the same day. The next day was the medical. And then wait for the call.
Flew with a new hire a while back and they mentioned they waited one month to hear back after the in person interview/eval/medical. Then PIT class 2 months after that.

How the hell did somebody asking a question on a PUBLIC forum that may or may not have been answered before put a dent in your day to day life? Stop being so grumpy, don't say anything and keep moving along. Like you said, world is dynamic... things change constantly. It's possible the answer to the same question from 3 months ago could be different... now? Say something useful or GTFO, simple.

Or, people can just stop being so lazy and expect all the answers to be spoonfed and do a bit of ever so light research for the answer in a very accessible right in front of their faces.

By the way, that blunt piece of advice that I've repeated IS useful. So I suppose I'll stay and copy paste my answer for the next punk that comes here to argue about it.
