Flair Negots 2026
Heard they are in Conciliation and looking for WJ 737 rates.
Anyone know how it is going? Be great to see them beat us for some true pattern bargaining without concessions like the Air Canada negots team.

We're dealing with a "management" group that bought their first jet job at Jetsgo, worked as FO's overseas, and returned as union busting B Swoop Scabs. How do you think it's going negotiating with these middle east Canadian hockey jock types?

Last December.
Re: Flair Negots 2026
Air Canada was looking for Delta's pay and settled for something different.
No one knows what a negotiating committee asks for but they often aim for the sky and settle for something more realistic.

Re: Flair Negots 2026
They have higher starting and top end 737 pay than Air Canada pilots now. I guess they always had better starting paybeingcanadian wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2026 8:01 pm16% over 3 years?

Let's not forget, you can get paid more than AC, and not have to live in YVR and YYZ. Which is a much larger financial win for the flair guys, provided the airline remains intact.
Good job guys.

Need to read the full language, but this negotiating committee seems like a big step forward from the last bunch of company stooges. Hopefully there's no hidden concessions in the full language.

Re: Flair Negots 2026
The proof will be in seeing how the implementation goes, but I don't see any concessions at all. Whether you think the pay and pension bumps are enough, we aren't giving up anything to get them, whereas CA 1 we gave away the farm to get more money. Captain pay wise we'll pass WS and PD, but still be behind AC and TS, I'm sure both PD and WS will pass us on their next CAs, as for FO pay we will be #1 for the first 5 years, and #2 for the first 7 years, with 50% years of service pay status for upgrades.PeanutGallery wrote: ↑Fri Jun 19, 2026 7:27 pm Need to read the full language, but this negotiating committee seems like a big step forward from the last bunch of company stooges. Re: Flair Negots 2026
Isn't it 50% better than what they had?
Want to wager how many current FO's get upgraded in the next two years at Flair? I'd say it's a pretty outsized benefit given how many people may actually take advantage of it during this contract.
Re: Flair Negots 2026
Not only that, but if FOs at flair are getting upgraded at what...3-4 years? (Only guessing) thats not too bad. If it was 50% at AC the 12 year 777 FO would lose 6 years off the captain scale in an upgrade. 1-2 years potential off the Captain scale isnt nearly as bad as 6.
50% isnt perfect, but with shorter upgrades its not as bad as it would be with longer upgrades.
Re: Flair Negots 2026
Their bases are YVR, YYZ, YYC, and YEG, which is 100% overlap with AC and WS. If the appeal is the option to live in YYC or YEG, then what does Flair offer that WestJet doesn't?
Re: Flair Negots 2026
The question, then, is whether there actually are upgrades happening in three to four years. The fleet hasn't grown at all in the last five years; in fact, the last change in fleet size was a reduction of four aircraft. As far as I'm aware, hiring has been on hold as well. Is it merely your assumption that that's the typical wait time? I'm skeptical that an airline with no growth and that did most of its hiring in the last ten years has enough retirements and attrition to turn over its FO population in three to four years.khedrei wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2026 9:09 am
