“Truth Has a Voice – And It’s Mine”

There’s something they don’t tell you when you speak the truth:
You won’t always be celebrated for it.
You won’t always be thanked.
You might lose friends.
You might lose your job.
You might even lose thirty years of your life waiting for justice that never comes.
But you speak it anyway.
Because truth, when it lives inside you, refuses to die quietly.
I am Tajo Amar Beharry.
I was a pilot.
I was injured while doing my job — under an American aircraft with a hydraulic leak that had already flown through multiple cities without being repaired.
A jetstream of fluid hit my eye, tore my retina, and took away my sight in an instant.
But that wasn’t the part that broke me.
What broke me was the silence that followed.
The refusal to take responsibility.
The doctor who backed out at the last moment.
The friends who looked away.
The courtroom that turned a deaf ear to my pain.
I was left to fight for my dignity — alone.
But I did not stay silent. I could not.
Because I still had one thing they couldn’t take:
The truth.
And truth has a voice.
It may tremble at first.
It may be ignored.
But it does not disappear.
It waits.
It burns.
And when the moment comes — it speaks.
I wrote my story not out of revenge, but because truth deserves a witness.
I survived betrayal, injustice, and isolation… but I never surrendered my voice.
And today, I use it not just for me…
But for anyone who’s been wronged and left in the shadows.
This voice you hear?
It belongs to a man who refused to stay broken.
It belongs to someone who was grounded — and got back up.
It belongs to truth.
And truth has a voice — and it’s mine.
