I just wish that we could change the constitution so that we could have some Alberta common sense running this country. Worked well for a decade. That being said, their big city leaders prove that there is not as much common sense as you might think.

That very same 'common sense' that sees Alberta with a $32Bn sovereign wealth fund vs Norway's $2Tn wealth fund - generated out of roughly the same amount of conventional oil reserves?

It’s because of Norways right wing government, laissez faire capitalism with little to no regulation, extremely low taxes, poor worker rights, and almost zero social spending.

It will be interesting to see who Alberta blames after it separates and basically makes itself the next South Sudan.. another new landlocked and impoverished petrostate.

Getting paid in USD… don’t make me laugh. More like salivating that snow Mexicans are cheap and can be paid in Monopoly money.
