What's the typical upgrade time now for Encore ? Is 500 time on type still the minimum req?

13-8.01 in their current contract. You can find it on negotech. It says :


13-8.01. A Pilot shall become eligible for Upgrade training based on operational
requirements in accordance with their Seniority number on the PSL, by
having established technical performance which is consistent with that
required for Upgrade and meeting the minimum flight time requirements
as outlined in the training guidelines in accordance with Section 13-2.01
above.

There’s no mention of minimum times. You basically need an ATPL.

WestJet Encore utilizes minimum flight experience requirements prior to upgrade eligibility:
■ Possession of an Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
■ 1500 flight hours total flight time*
■ 500 flight hours under CAR 705 or equivalent
*A minimum of 900 hours of which shall be completed in fixed wing aeroplanes.
