PRM – Sealand Flight / BC Air

Post by SealandFlightManager »

We're looking for a PRM to join our team in Campbell River.
We're a busy, Vancouver Island aviation company with bases in Campbell River, Nanaimo, Qualicum Beach, Courtenay Airpark and other communities. We operate 16 aircraft for flight training, rentals, charter and aerial work, so this is definitely not a "sit in an office and push paperwork around" kind of job.
We're looking for someone who understands aircraft maintenance, knows their way around the CARs, is organized, and can keep track of what's going on without needing to be chased.
The Job
As PRM, you'll be responsible for our Maintenance Control System and making sure our aircraft stay airworthy, compliant and available for the operation.
That includes:
• Keeping our Maintenance Control System up to date.
• Planning and coordinating scheduled inspections and maintenance.
• Working with our contracted AMOs to get maintenance done.
• Tracking maintenance records, ADs and other continuing-airworthiness requirements.
• Making sure maintenance gets properly documented.
• Working with our pilots, operations staff, AMEs and maintenance contractors.
• Working with Transport Canada.
• Training staff.
• Generally keeping the maintenance side of the operation organized and moving in the right direction.
What We're Looking For
You don't necessarily need to be an AME. We're more interested in what you know and what you can do.
You should have:
• A good understanding of aircraft maintenance and know when something needs to be investigated further, what defects might be deferred, and when to ground an aircraft.
• A solid working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to keep track of a lot of details without losing sight of the big picture.
• The confidence to talk to AMEs, contractors, pilots and Transport Canada and to make decisions.
• The ability to work independently but also be part of a small team.
• Great communication skills.
• Patience and a sense of humour.
Don't Have an AME Licence?
That's OK.
An AME licence isn't a requirement for the position. You will need to meet the Transport Canada requirements for a PRM and be prepared to complete the required Transport Canada PRM examination.
If you've worked around aircraft maintenance, maintenance planning, maintenance control, quality assurance or a similar environment and think you could do this job, we'd like to talk to you.
Why Us?
We're a small aviation company, so you'll actually know the people you're working with and your decisions will make a difference.
Our operation includes flight training, charter and aerial work, and we're also involved in some pretty interesting projects—including electric aircraft and other new aviation technology.
We work with contracted AMOs rather than trying to do everything ourselves, so a big part of the job is coordinating people, planning ahead and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
We're looking for someone who wants to be part of the operation, not just someone who wants a title.
If this sounds like something you'd be good at, send us your résumé and phone number. We're happy to have a conversation and tell you more about the job.
