Wait for the equipment bid in the coming weeks and you can find out for yourself. That's probably the best way. Don't hold your breathe though. Everyone is YYZ based to start. They make that perfectly clear during your phone and in-person interview.

A lot of what you ask has been recently covered in previous and recent forums.

I have, in effect, asked what you have. I do suggest to use a bit of tact when asking. We westerners run the risk on this forum of sounding snobbish or arrogant if we are looking to go to Jazz, then look to bid out of YYZ ASAP. The job calls for living in YYZ, so nobody (least of all myself) should give a hint of whining about YYZ...

My reasons for enquiring about west bases are for family reasons - there is no career reasons for coming out here otherwise. I know full well if I do get on, and do eventually bid a basing west, it will be a veerrryyy long time on reserve...

As said, if you want to get hired at Jazz, then go with the mindset you chose to live in T.O., and EVENTUALLY, perhaps, maybe, you will be able to bid a western basing. That is how I am looking at this whole adventure.
