Decision No. 16-A-2006
January 10, 2006
So far Flair only has a Cargo Licence but has been granted wetlease authority to operate flights on behalf of Cubana. They do however hold an OC that allows for both passenger and cargo operations.

APPLICATION by Flair Airlines Ltd., on behalf of itself and Cubana de Aviacion S.A., for an approval pursuant to section 60 of the Canada Transportation Act, S.C., 1996, c. 10, and section 8.2 of the Air Transportation Regulations, SOR/88-58, as amended, to permit Cubana de Aviacion S.A. to provide its scheduled international all-cargo service between Cuba and Canada using aircraft with flight crew provided by Flair Airlines Ltd., from January 11 to April 7, 2006.
File No. M4835-16
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Flair Airlines Ltd. (hereinafter Flair Airlines) on behalf of itself and Cubana de Aviacion S.A., (hereinafter Cubana) has applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency (hereinafter the Agency) for the approval set out in the title. The application was received on January 9, 2006.

Hmmm...

Are you certain they only have a cargo licence? The first aircraft onto their OC was CFLHR. CFLHR is the "Leaving on a Jet Plane" pax aircraft.

I thought they have a dual pax/cargo licence and this was just a TC decission regarding all cargo rights between Canada and Cuba under a wetlease to Cubana.

And regarding the ownership, if you read back a few posts to where I gave some details on CFLHR. It listed the owner address. When you do a reverse lookup on that address it's Jim Rogers of KFC.

Since the registration on this aircraft has always been CFLHR since in the KFC system, it may lead one to believe that this "Flair" program has been in the works for a while.

Flair Airlines has it's own flight crews. Some required services such as maintenance and dispatch are contracted out as necessary.

So, Mr. Perraton, how long before the cargo machine is up and running again?

Yup...the name in gold lettering "Flair~Air" is painted on the black tail...it matches the black oil dripping from the jurassic engines.

Just kidding :smt116

It maybe be a "scab airline", but this is to show that NO job is secured and guaranteed. Not Air Canada, not Westjet not even the Space Shuttle program.

Make sure you union lovers understand the difference and the limit to squeezing vs. choking.

LHJ, the freighter, is white with a red stripe and has no winglets. LHR is the passenger bird with the gold letters and winglets.

Not any more. LHJ got a paint job while she was in C-Check and now has the matching paint job with the rest off the fleet.
