Jazz sim evaluation CYYZ
Hello guys, I did my sim in CYYZ last week and wanted some feedback. To start with, the guys were super great , made a stressful situation not so bad. I did a good job with all their calls, crm and ifr but I had the toughest time controlling my pitch. I had not flown in a little over a year and had never been in a sim before. I have over 3700 hours and more than 2400 on a Convair 580. In the sim I was often over correcting sending me up and down, sometimes 500 to 800 feet. I never gave up, did well on everthing else, ndb tracking, approach, engine fire, overshoot and crm. Does anyone know if that was enough for a chance. Its not like thats how I have been flying thr Convair for the past 5 years.
Anyone with good news for me? I am sure that after a couple of sims its all back to normal but you only get that one chance and you cannot change what happened, only live with it and hope that the guys evaluating you can see through that. I guess thats my wishfull thinking.
Good luck to those of you and remember to be very smooth and very small corrections

If they didn't shut the sim down half way through then I'd say you have a chance. No one does a perfect sim, and they don’t expect such. They are looking at your CRM, Situational Awareness, and how you handle stress. Can they see them working with you and it being a somewhat enjoyable experience.
Years ago I did the Jazz sim, and crashed on the first takeoff (went off the side of the runway), and crashed on the landing (went off the other side of the runway), and I made it so they obviously weren’t looking for perfection.
Good luck, Im sure we’ll be seeing you online.

The feet you step on today might be attached to the ass you're kissing tomorrow.

Hi Red1, I was no where near perfection and I never will be perfect. There is always something to improve and learn. What I do know is that I was not lost. IFR was on the money, I even made a couple of jokes to the guys, hoping that they were not sick from my demonstation of how to fly a simulator like a worm...up and down up and down...they were pretty cool guys.
Best of luck to you
