In this thread, you seek & hope for the demise of TWA. In another thread you comment on the Feb "destruction" of NDA/ Norcan. Do us all a favour and shut up for awhile. Have YOU ever tried running an air service of any size or scope? I sincerely doubt it! But you feel its ok to put Mr Websters name up in lights to take shots at him? For whatever he did or didnt do in the dying stages of NDA/Norcan, he did give 100`s of pilots their start in this industry over the past 20 years so seriously... just shut up about things you know NOTHING about. Freakin kids should be monitored on their mommys home computers!
Fly safe all. Cheers
PS... Best of luck to the "new" airline in YPA with some old faces to guide it.

From what hear back in Sask. all those pilots, engineers and rampys could all still have there job if it wasnt for MR. Webster. The company did not go bankrupt he shut down the company for his own personal gain (the sale of NDA).
So dont try and keep Mr Webster too high on your pedastal.

flyinthebug I think you need to keep YOUR mouth shut about things YOU know nothing about. From the sounds of it you never worked for NDA/NCA at all. GPU_lover is right. He didnt go bankrupt, just shut it down for his own personal gain, screwing many pilots over. How would you like to be up north flying and then in a single moment get a fax telling you that the company is suspending operations indefinitely. Nothing like getting a little notice eh? I'm sorry if I seem bitter but you would be too if you got screwed by NDA and TWA. Oh and I own my own computer and my own place sweetheart so you can just go back to your own mommy's computer and play your Teletubbies games.

You are correct, I did not work for NDA or Norcan directly. I will point out that I do have some small amount of knowledge as to what occured with the end of NDA/ Norcan. I wasnt singing DW`s praises nor was I knocking him in anyway. I happen to like him but thats my personal choice. I pointed out that there are MANY of us where we are today because DW gave alot of guys their first break nothing more or less. To me its simply a respect thing.
Only those that need to know, truly do know what happened to NDA/Norcan. Thats none of my business. I DO feel for the guys and gals up north that busted their a$$es for NDA. They did deserve a better fate but most recovered as all us pilots have to do from time to time and they landed on their feet.
It just seemed to me that you have a bone to pick with all the companies in N. Sask? Im sorry to hear you had a bad experience with either TWA or NDA/Norcan. Im just letting you know not everyone shares your negative views of either DW or TWA or NDA/ Norcan itself. Infact, look to past threads about the history behind the original Norcanair. Im sure you`ll find them intresting.
Either way, cheer up enuff name calling too !

Everyone overlooks the fact that WWA's insurance has got to be drastically cheaper than NDA/NCA's was (from what I hear that was a major factor in thier demise after the "final" incident), and well...TW...'nuff said. Think of all the money they could be making parting out all of the machines they wreck. WWA has never had an incident that I know of, it must be hard for TW to compete profitably when all of thier revenue goes into paying higher insurance premiums to prepare for the next wreck. At least the planes get replaced quickly, I hear the native bands are shopping like mad for a new KA100....

Pronto is lookin like a pretty good deal for us northerners that have to pay for our flights, but Norcan did the same thing. They had all the deals and Transwest always compared with their flights, the weekend special, that was awesome; but looked who shut down and who is still in business. I'm not taking sides...I worked for both airlines.
"what time is the plane in? "
Not entirley sure whats gonna happen with the new pronto air service but what I do know is that Transwest has been operating in Saskatchewan for a long time. Other companies may have come and go, accidents have happened but in the end TWA has prevaled (air sask/athabasca). So I think a little more thought should go into some of the posts bashing this company. Its not only juvenile, its pathetic! Feel free to have an opinion, but keep in mind there are SOME people still trying to make it in this industry there, and working just as hard as the rest.
Why Fly Right Side Up, When You Can Fly Upside Down
hmmm..
Hmm.. whats the difference if you buy it from Canadian Tire or Aero. It'll work, and its cheaper... Besides TC hates flying that far up north to really look over planes... Its cold and a long way from Winnipeg so it makes perfect sense. Its amazing what companies hide..that u don't see.

I don't think it makes any difference which airline you use. Pronto or Transwest, new airline companies never last very long up here anyways. I'm loyal to Transwest (even though they screwed me over while I worked for them) the planes are comfy and the FLT and Ramp crew are nice, the northern ones anyways, the southern agents kinda suck. But whatever
I never said I was gonna fly with them, but if they have the deals then why not...I have always been loyal to transwest, I even flew with Transwest when I worked for Norcan...but vice versa...I flew Norcan when I worked for Transwest. Just went with whoever had the room

i wouldnt be too quick to bash the maintenance company in YPA. I think you were mistaken and thinking of NDAs maintenance in YBE. Elite Aero in YPA does nothing but top notch work to the aircraft they service. I should know, they've worked on my airplane and never had a problem. The guys up in U-city on the other hand, although under Elites AMO I would never consider them to have any affiliation with Elite. So once again get yer facts straight.

Transwest welcomes competition and there may be hostility towards the company (for good reason or not). But having people hoping Transwest goes bankrupt is beyond me. It might screw over management but they're rich, they can cope. It's the people who are flying just like you who it'll screw over the most. So wipe your wet eyes and get over whatever it is that's plaguing your mind. We're all just trying to make it out here.
At least it'll be warm in hell...

Trippin @350: Where is Air Canada in all this? I heard...
What did you hear? Jazz is gonna start flying their RJ's to Stony? I heard WestJet is gonna start a sked to PA, because of the diamond mines... you know, the ones that were discovered and were supposed to explode the economy three years ago.

Please dont waste our time on this form with talk about Saskatchewan, nobody cares about that place anyways. I dont think anyone who pays for their own ticket is going to fly on a 1900 over a Saab. Its like being in a barrel and having monkeys bang on it for 2 hours....yuck
