from thier website:Dust Devil wrote:Is Pronto another West Wind Company? Like Express Air? I noticed the girl on Pronto's website is the same girl in West Wind's yellow pages ad.
Pronto Airways has contracted West Wind Aviation to provide its flight services, thereby giving the new company immediate access to West Wind’s track record of safety, exceptional customer service and airline operations systems. Pronto Airways is owned, in its entirety, by a group of private sector Saskatchewan investors, including West Wind Aviation.

I agree, although it IS saskatchewan, you'd think that they would have a little more professional looking logo, maybe people may take them seriously. Looking at the logo makes you think that it is an airline run by some kindergarteners. Not sure if people will want to fly with an airline that appears that way, mainly non-saskatchewanians. Maybe they'll even hand-write tickets, freight waybills and cargo destination stickers with crayons!!!logicaldisaster wrote:Their paintjobs look like I'm on a plane to Beetlejuice's hideout! Looks like they had each pilot pick their own design for each letter.

Who cares what the logo looks like, if someone is gonna get a better deal on a plane ticket out of the north, i don't think they are gonna be too picky about the kind of plane they fly out on. Just think about Norcan and the Metro. I couldn't stand that plane, but when thier prices were better than transwest, I chose the Metro over the Saab. So I don't think that would be a factor in which airline you choose. It's about who's giving you the better deal for your money.

i wasnt meaning that people will choose an airline based on the logo, but for people not from northern saskatchewan, ones that are a little more picky may feel a little insecure and unsafe flying on an airline whos logo makes it appear as if its run by a bunch of carnies. Northerners will fly on anything but do you actually think some people wouldnt care if they had to fly on a HO. I know of some people that kringe at the thought of getting on something smaller than a Saab.

Yeah..Good point !!
They should get on one of the newly painted Jetstreams at TWA (or is it Air Sask)
Fact of the matter is, both company's are established in Sask. and have been for a while...Norcan went down because of insurance not because of the lack of business...TWA and Pronto(WWA) will both survive. They just wont thrive the way TWA is with their Sked service now!!
Before everyone makes all these comments...research a little more...Pronto will provide direct service to Stony from P.A. ...It's a different service!! The plan is not for direct competition but other options for the north

Remember...8 hours guys !!
Newly painted Jetstreams?!? Hahaha I seriously hope thats sarcasm. Regardless of the design of the paint scheme Pronto has chose, at least their fleet matches. Which is more then TWA can claim. I am not a business or marketing major, but what do you think would make customers most concerned: a bad logo design or horrible deteriorating paint jobs that doen't match the rest of the fleet? The paint on TWA's Jetstreams is pratically falling off. They should get on one of the newly painted Jetstreams at TWA (or is it Air Sask)
If the paint on an airplane is not kept up to par, it is easy to make the assumption that the rest of the maintenance is not up to par. I know this is not always a correct assumption, but look through the eyes of the flying public.
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness.

Easy now... PRONTO has a Be10. And hey that can take on a Saab anyday. There is a real luxuray when you can smell your pilots shit their pants during an NDB approach into Points North where you loose the beacon signal while on the Procedure Turn OUTBOUND.
However, a good pilot will open up a package of those "super-stinky" corn snack that they serve. That will overcome any airplane with a "stinky sock" smell that will cover up any fears of the flight crew.

I think trippin is saying that he has physically pooped his pants while on the NDB in Points North. This was caused by losing the NDB signal on the procedure turn.
I know what you mean about the snacks. Passengers hate the smell of pilots snacks. If the snacks are being eaten by fellow passengers, that "stinky sock" smell is alright.
Im with the slug on this one. 350..... really dont know what you are getting at.
Also, doesnt Transwest use a Be10 once in a while for their sched?

Last I heard TWA was shadowing Pronto's route with thier SAAB so the northerners would be attracted by the bigger airplane, interesting stategy...spend a pile of money to earn a little. Also heard Pronto had some trouble getting thier first airplane online so they were using one of WW's 200s. Any new news from the flatlands?

Question: if TWA has been around longer than Tonto air, who's shadowing who?teh_flyguy wrote:Last I heard TWA was shadowing Pronto's route with thier SAAB so the northerners would be attracted by the bigger airplane, interesting stategy...spend a pile of money to earn a little.
