Thanks Canada for electing yet another Right Wing bible thumpin bigot puppet...You seem to have forgotten the scandals of the Mulroney Era and his goons.

"Western Canada has wanted in and Western Canada will be heard..."
- Stephen Harper. Jan 23rd 2006

I'm not sure what this means but I think it falls in the same category as when Parriseau of the PQ made a speech after they lost that went something like this...

"We lost this because of English money and the ethnic vote!!!!"

Prepare yourselves for a challenging 4 years.
Expect us to be the 51st State.

If you look close enough...you can see strings pulling his arms and mouth.

Don't you find it curious that the day after the election at 09+15 the Bank of Canada announces the hike?

Traditional Canadian past economic growth and general 'good times' has been when the Feds were run by the Liberals and the Conservatives were in Ontario...fact fact fact.

This should be interesting.

I'm thinking of spending 4 years dead for income tax reasons...nice work Canada...

I met CHRETIEN in Roberval PQ in 1996 election campaign...he said something very interesting to the people that came out to the airport.

"It's easy to be the opposition...all you have to do is open the newspaper in the morning...read what the current government has done wrong, go and bitch about it in Parliment and your day is done"

You people out west..here's your chance...the country is in your hands.
Since you folks have all the answers prior to the election and for the past 12 years...show us how it's done.

Show us how easy it is. I'm going to get a paper...

I was gonna mention that too, unless he was one of the 5 guys that had been investigated and resigned, probably only replaced with another liberal crony...

Think DD is right birdy...

It was a well known fact that interest rates were going to go up at some point... and it seems that the Bank of Canada typically waits until after crucial events.. (read: elections).

I agree with DD. They've gone up a few times before, and nothing was said?

Sorry.. not an argument, although I still love ya Dawg 8)

I love watching the eastern media trying to figure this out, there picking it apart like a bad episode of CSI.

Ya who would want an economy like the West too many jobs, booming economy, hell Ralphs handing out money. Dont fear change.

A little revolution is good now and then dont you think?

Scandals of the Mulroney era? Need I remind you of the much more recent liberal scandals that wasted BILLIONS?! Or can you offer a simple explanation to justify it?

Globe & Mail
Stephen Harper returns to the capital with ambitious plans to reshape the Canadian federation. First up: a transition team led by a Mulroney-era veteran, and a new, slimmer cabinet
I see we are solving the real issues that need immediate attention...forget health care...forget homeless.

I don't remember any talk of a new consitution in the election. Mulroney stated in private once which was later told in the book "Secret Mulroney tapes" he was pissed off at Canadians because he wanted his name being throned as the man who changed the constitution of Canada. He vowed to one day return and do it. Sounds like a guy with a personal agenda. Putting personal issues infront of Canadian and Canada can't be a positive thing.

..Now if you will excuse me..I'm going out to buy a paper...

Yes, I think Paul Martin would agree with you - he's learned quite a lesson lately, about personal ambition.

You people seem to think I am pro Liberal. I'm not.

The fact that he's (Mulroney) getting involved heading up the constitution says a lot about the intellect of Harper. He is a puppet. George W Bush has the intelligence of a bar of soap. I never expect we as Canadian would follow suit and elect a man with no vision...he is just a puppet where there are cowards behind him pulling the strings.

You think Mulroney was man enough to take his crucifixion during his party's 1992-3 election call? No he hid behind a woman when he 'stepped down'. Coward.

If he didn't stick around to go down with his ship in 1992...who voted him in to have anything to do with any other matter pertaining to this country and it's affaris except to be a citizen now and have the right to vote like any other?

PC's fidgeting with the constitution? Trudeau's and Cretien's fingerprints are all over it. For the most part, Cretien just ignored it. No, I'm not defending Mulroney, but what vision did the Liberals have? Trudeau ducked behind Turner just like Cretien retreated behind Martin.

Um are you implying that because Harper Selected a guy from the "Mulroney Era" to head up the transition, that somehow Mulroney is involved?? Perhaps someone with experiance in things like this would be a benifit to a new government or would you prefer a 200 hour back bencher flying your A380. please explain yourself

Are you kidding me? If you watched the next morning ole Big Jaw himself was all over the tube announcing he will very much be part of the group that will be advising Harper on many matters. Are you new to this!?

As is your opinion and mine. The G&M is a leader in Canadian printed news. Back in the day when Niagara on The Lake (Located in Ontario...Canada) was the capital of Canada, the newspaper was born there. It's as old as this country...not by chance.

Let's stick to the topic of me being always right, shall we?
