Not under the name Sonic Blue. I think with all the publicity now, and yet to come there name will be tarnished for a very long time.

I unfortunately have to disagree. I can assure you that the general public does not pay very close attention to things like this - and even if they do, their "memory" of it is short-lived.

I've been involved with CASARA for years, and have tried to get info on accidents where I was involved in the initial searches... Based on my experiences, I could find the information if I searched for it... but I had to search pretty hard. Your average Joe / Jane Public probably isn't paying much attention.

This stuff gets national media coverage for maybe a day, regional for a couple of days, and maybe local coverage for a week. After that, there is a car accident, fire or other "newsworthy" event and your aviation accident is forgotten.

It is only within the aviation indusrty where people will remember specifics such as the company name, etc. So I have to vote that they will fly again, and there is SFA that TC or anybody else will do about it. I hope I am proved wrong, but I doubt it.

This accident has some legs in the media and the father is doing an effective job of keeping the media on it. That means political fall-out for TC and they need to be seen to be doing something about this company or some senior TC management heads could roll, especially with a new minister coming. The easiest thing for them to do, given the company's violation history, is shut them down. From TC's perspective it's simple, justifiable, and lets the new minister start clean. It's a win for everyone, even the travelling public.

This accident has become just too high profile. Kind of reminds me of Raf Zur and Skylink. Got away with all kinds of crap until he killed some people in spectacular fashion and had himself on the nightly news every day for a week or two.

It is definately becoming high profile due to some of the more emotional aspects that are getting a lot of news coverage.

I have had several in depth discussions with a news person who contacted me.

From what I sense in this one I do think that Wilbur has made an accurate comment on how this may play out.

There is even the possibility of Sonic Blue becoming the Tomahawk Airways of this decade....which will be a plus for the industry.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
