Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right

Don't know you but I'm guessing we've crossed paths at some point.

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

Bosses wives can be real
. I have had good and bad but if they dont like you they can make your work life hell. Keep them happy and even if your boss doesnt like you his wife wont let him harm ya!
I have one now that has been bashing me to people phoning for refrences, her hubby gives me a good refernce though but I had to take them off my resume just incase she answers the phone. The sick thing is that she still pretends to like me and tells me to come visit when I phone to say hello
Rudder, good luck with flying this summer, too bad about the yukon job, thanks for the warning I think they contacted me a month ago looking for a CP. We are lucky to be doing what we do and getting paid for it when you look at the alternitve for most of us......can you say Walmart Greeter.

Don't worry about it so much Bean. You're giving her the upper hand by thinking about it so much. Don't give her so much power. Just continue to be the happy, easy going guy everyone knows you to be.
Plus you'll feel better once you get your ass back in the plane this summer. Just remember that there are a lot of people who look up to you!

Finally
Thanks guys for a great support.
I did not have the time to reply individually but here it is to all of you.
We are all sharing a fabulous passion and it's not always a creampuff but it can be at times.
I am leaving behind the b*** and the yukon outfit she's taking down with her.
I'll keep you all posted about it. I will have plenty of rainy days to spend here from next week on.
I enjoy snowshoes, skidoos, Inuits and bushplanes but now its time for an oil change. I will soon be bitching about different stuff like we all do when we get it, even for the big bucks. That's life friends. The greener grass...
Lets try to make a living out of flying if it is what you feel you do best. I have tried all kinds of other things this year. Name it, I've done it. There is nothing like being paid to fly, believe me.
Viva la vida

Re: We are lucky to be pilots
Hello rudder bug from what i can read from you we know each other for long time still waiting for that plane to fly
Rudder Bug wrote:I've flown ultalights and DC-4's and everything in between, exept wide bodies for 34 years. Never flown a jet but I should have done it like my friends. Too late now. The time has gone.
Flying gave me lots of satisfactions. The first time things got really wrong was with a person running the base this last summer in Yukon. She had a couple hours back seat in her husband's Super Cub, just enough to be able to pick on pilots flying there. Like the other pilots, she did not like me.
I can't give the company's name but it contains the words Wings and Yukon. Please never apply there!!!!
She had me quit the job and bite the dust big times since. She let me buy a house the day she made me quit. I did not quit but she wrote it on my Record of Employment. That will be fixed this week as they know that company is not serious. They are known for a high rate of turnover because no pilot can stay more than a couple weeks there. They have been hiring several guys every season. She's a real bitch.
Since then, I work as a carpenter helper 15 hours per week. I 've tried Canadian Tire, Shoppers Drug Mart and drove the Waterfront Trolley. The best job I had was paying 12 per hour. The bank wants me to sell my house.
I have left a good paying job for them and ended up with a bad credit. I was bitching while making 5 k and up, flying, and there I am, working my butt for peanuts and beeing trained like a dog in other businesses.
I am going back to flying in 2 months, and I will be more than happy to be a captain again. Not a dog.
For those who feel miserable flying a Beaver or what, I can tell you have a real good job. You are flying and being paid. Is this what you always wanted to do?
You don't want to end up in your 50's whith bunch of hours training at Canadian Tire for 10 bucks to pay your house....
I can build you a super-dooper nice fence or porch now, or fly your plane safely. I'd rather build your fence. It would pay much more but I'd miss flying.
