...It's greater than a 3 year degree, but not quite as long as a 5 year...

In the US they have 2 year degrees, so people just call them 4 year degrees.

Highlander, I've applied and re-applied as well, but not a peep as of yet. But with your profile, I'm pretty sure your phone will ring soon enough.

A good friend and former co-worker just got hired at mainline and he was mentioning that everyone in that course has a degree.

I just wish there was some way we could follow up on our applications from time to time. It seems like once you apply, you just have to sit tight and wait.

Problem with this industry is that it's not what you know, but rather who you know!

Highlander, are you going for Jazz or mainline? I am assuming Jazz due to the Workopolis thing. With that time I am amazed you haven't got a call...how many looks have you had on your profile? If it is zero you have likely done something wrong with the application.

If only a few looks but no call I would phone the office and ask to talk to Tamara. Very nice lady who will help you out.

I got to tell you this is messed up! It seems that it's only jazz that is considering the high time pilots... or mabe it's only those people that havn't gotten the call (I'm one of them!) from mainline that are posting their frustration! Who knows but I got to tell you that I don't think its who you know because I have some pretty nifty recommendation letters and haven't herd squat!!!!

Well that is my 2 cents to add to the mix!

I had tonnes of "views" but the problem was that I had it on public viewing.

I decided to re-apply and have one view- in private mode.

Don't know what to think......

I have an interview scheduled with Jazz in the next couple of weeks. I had my workopolis cv set on "public"...

By the way someguy, how did it go?

It was excellent. I would suggest the best way to prepare for it is to decide on some good things from your past and some bad things. Be clear on why you want to join Jazz, and speak openly and freely.

More than anything I think they were trying to decide whether or not they could go 4 days on a pairing without wanting to kill you.

If you are a normal guy, with normal guidelines (ie follow SOP, but sometimes it needs to be bent to fit situation), and are at all likeable, I think you will be fine.

Interviews now are for late April early May GS's.

Actually, now that you guys are mentioning this public/private thing with Workopolis, I think I might change my viewing to private. It seems that I'm always getting emails from Jazz, but for everything other than flying positions. I've recieved notifications for things like custmer service, ramp agent and so on.

I WANT TO FLY!! :?

hey boys/girls, my file was viewed 7 times before I got the call. Same experience as everyone else. I think the company you work/worked for could also help. They will traditionally pull from certain companies because they have had good experiences with those pilots. Go with what you know I guess. If you have the exp, you will be called, hang tight.

If the guys doing the hiring are from Air Nova then yes, it would not surprise me if the company you are coming from has alot to do with whether you get a call.

In the past, Air Nova would not hire anyone from Pem Air for example.

I know of at least two guys who were at Pem-air that were hired by air nova. I don't think its a negative to work for a lousy company but probably a plus if you come from a clean operation.

Just a quick note for those of you with no views. I had my resume on for over a year with no views. I deleted the resume and reposted it and within a week had 3 views and am up to 4 now. I have always been on public also. hope this helps

Just curious as to what the average (total time) is now before getting on with Jazz...is it still in the 3500 to 4000 ish range?

All the best

I hate to say it but I feel like giving up.

I don't know what I am doing wrong or what I am missing.

Still no calls or e-mails from Jazz or AC.

I feel like I am running outta time.
