I selected public resume...and that is probably why all the views
I never thought about it but I'm thinking now maybe I should've selected private. Oh well.
3500 tt
1600 multi turbine (sic)
1600 single turbine (pic)
4 year degree
not bilingual
ops manager/chief pilot experience
and a masterfly scripted cover letter
good luck to everyone. With the hiring forcast for this year things should be excellent for many.
The computer prescores you...having said that it will award points in things like over 4000/5000 hrs tt, sim time, jet time,1000 pic, tier 3 or better, french, diploma degree.. etc...if you have these things you will probably score high and probably get a phone interview. The scores are displayed beside your name and we don't have to hit your name to see your score. Make sure the answers are correct because this may affect your score and display something less desireable. Internal recommends are now attached electronically(and this helps alittle too, but not as much as in the past) If you want to get to WJ...tailor your time/experience to those prescreen questions. Also the guy that has been smashing around up north his full career OR at one outfit will be less favourable than someone who has moved a little, experienced more ie: out east or flown into the states alot etc.....these guys/gals will have the most to offer going into LAX or Mexico or good ol torbay! We are after trainable experienced likeable people. Let WJ know that on your resume... BTW we are increasing the hiring this year to classes of 10 every 3 weeks due to extra flying from marketing. Those that haven't updated on workopolis not to worry we still have your application and all is good. hope this answers a few questions.
Workopolis has been updated significantly. I checked it out today and it asked me to re-do my resume by cutting and pasting information into fields instead of a textbox for the resume. One addition is that it also asks for skills now.
Just wondering about workopolis. I selected non-searchable and have had no views yet. Its been over 3 weeks since I applied. I thought that by selecting this it would be for WestJet only. I'm now wondering if I done any of this correctly.
Cap'n P8 wrote:Hey guys how do you find out if you have any views? Does it send you an email or can you find out at the workopolis site when you log in?
On the Workopolis site, when you login you will be presented with a screen listing your resumes. Next to this it says "Recruiter views".

Searchable:Making your resumé searchable means not only can you apply for any job on our site, but prospective employers can seek you out from our database of jobseekers if a job is right and matches your skills and experience
Non-Searchable:Prospective employers searching our database won't be able to find you, but you can conveniently apply for any job on our site.
If you’re specifically interested in getting into WestJet, I think your best bet would to have it set for Non-Searchable. That way, the recruiter views that you have are those of WestJet so you can gain an idea of where you stand. There’s nothing worse than having 8 recruiter views only to later find out that it was Joe’s Apple Store looking for an assistant cashier.

Should I be erasing my application and reapplying every few months so I can update those prescreen questions? I can't find any other way of doing it on workopolis.

we have to go to workopolis tech to solve the problem. You will be able to access it soon. This is a new system as you know and as it evolves we will make the changes such as this one. Thanks.
