heard that no one from last year is coming back on the detectoid side... they are starting all fresh...so all be on your best behaviour and remember the MNR are never wrong. even they are wrong.
and to answer someone elses' question, they have hired 1/2 through the season, when folks move on for other places. This is of course, subject to change. Keep us updated, teacher and congratulations!!!love your skymaster!!!

Congrats to all new guys/girls,, youll have a blast!
Oh No, a whole new crew of pilots. It was bad enough trying to dodge skymasters in Northern Ontario last year. I just gave up flying at 3000ft. Just a tip for those who are heading up. It would not be a bad idea to learn the names of a few of the larger lakes in the area your working. While you guys and gals are doing your thing East to West the float folks are doing it North to South.

...Yes, while this may be true it is courteous and respectful to finish the short contract for which you have started and trained for without bond. I think it is much more preferable for the company to bring on extra hires due to a "fire flap" (a busy time in the season), rather than having to hire/train a new body to fill the void of a mid contract loss. If a new job is landed mid season, most (if not all) operators will honor this code and the job will be waiting at seasons end.water wings wrote:to answer someone elses' question, they have hired 1/2 through the season, when folks move on for other places.
In response to Phillyfans remark, I don’t think anyone wants to be the clown broadcasting a position report referring to there present location in ridicules mileage from the nearest airport. This isn’t SW Ontario guys and gals and there are high traffic areas to be aware of. Learn the landscape and the location of the many high float traffic lodges. Respect the locals & you shall get it in return…makes everybody’s job safer.
Oh yea, yes…love thy Skymaster…it is your baby
Congratulations & have fun !!

TCCK, i forgot about TS, too... that base is spoken for, no doubt... just a word of advice for the newbies: ifyou have a choice, choose a base WITHOUT observers (Chapleau, Sudbury, YTS if it happens to open up) The YGQ ones are completely useless, and get paid 2X what you do, so it kinda bites having dead weight in the plane that never see a flame until you point it out and push their head outta the way. The isolation switch will come in handy after your 5th hour.
enjoy, fly safe!!!

Edited because mud slinging never helped anyone. I'm just looking forward to a great season with Hick's and finally getting my career on track!
